Movies - very specific ones!

Dark, older, entertaining and classic? Darkstar.

And I loved the old black and white movies from Japan. The blind swordman was excellent. (The more modern remake blew chunks)
Last movie I watched - American Mary on Netflix.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. All of the movie's effects were either practical or actual real life body mod enthusiasts.

It tells the story of a medical student desperate for money to pay her bills and starts taking clients from the local extreme body mod community.

Warning - rape scene.

Every movie by Andrei Tarkovsky is a masterpiece really. I was never crazy about the lives of others, but i loved a Hanekke german movies alot, Das Wiesse band. Other than that there are way too many good old movies. How about Antonioni's blow up.

This movie shocked me more than any movie I can remember.

In the Realm of the Senses (1976)

Japanese movie that had to be made in France due to the graphic sexual footage and also the nature of obsession pushed to its limits.

"Withdrawing in disgust is not the same as apathy"

I watched Ghost Dog, but it never felt right. An excellent story, but something....

And Kung Fu (Bruce Lee aside),

The 36th Chamber of Shaolin
Five Fingers Of Death
Iron Monkey
Come Drink With Me (never seen the whole movie! Always came in during the last hour somehow)

There are many more like Streetfighter, but while it was really good, I didn't care for it. And I'm leaving out Jackie Chan too on purpose.

More modern:
Hero
Kung Fu Hustle (yes its a comedy, but still a great kung fu movie)
House Of Flying Daggers
