Still doesn't work for me after setting up all affinities and quitting & restarting the game.
As it is for now, the new folder improvement means way more micro management stress, because I have to move stuff extra to each single tab.

Do you have "Enable Tab Affinities" ticked?
I have ticked the affinity for each tab like the currency tab and divination card tab and map tab and so on.
But I have no option to tick "Enable Tab Affinities".
Where do I find this setting/option?

Nevermind, just found it...
And now that I've ticked the tab affinity option it works!
