Hardcore RIP videos on youtube are a joke.
But this would murder Softcore, which is completely fine now. Clear speed is best and most fun part of PoE.
This is not good idea. Basically to destroy the Softcore fun just fon 1-3% or how many there are HC players. |

" sadly I think this is right too. Games like Grim Dawn have slower combat but it means you never die, and same for Diablo 3 for that matter, which only kills you if you push a difficulty too soon instead of waiting for the Blizzard Patented Guaranteed Loot Lottery to upgrade you. I do think they need to have more obvious indicators as to what's coming your way and what might kill you before it does, because walking around a corner and getting detonate deaded by one of those spider monsters lingering in a corner is and always will be dumb. |

" At least, DD is not the instant anymore. It has like 2 seconds between cast and detonation. Lightning Mirages are more stupid. And the new league on-death effects, like always. |

Everything you are looking for is in the D3, good luck there.
The biggest problem you didn't mention is desync. Taking damage from abilities that have not yet been shown on the screen, or for example in one of the bosses of the heist, in which he activates the lases in several places and even you "dodging" ends up taking the damage and dying .. why? Because the position you chose the char is wrong due to the angle of view ... something logical but totally stupid for a game that doesn't have a camera rotation. In the first poecon it was mentioned that Izaro also has several desyncs, that is, you take the damage first before you even have time to react due to what is shown and what really happens on the screen. So playing hardcore in the game is just for streamer gain view and be cool to watch, nothing more. |

" Nope. It's not. While D3 does a couple things right that PoE does wrong, it does 100 things wrong that PoE does right.
Honestly, this post ans some first comments looking like a nice Bliz emploee staff intervention to poe.
If GGG will apply this, poe will likely die in SC, and even die off in HC by 2/3 or so, so only progamers will stay and streamers (not sure here for how lo g) PoE already have not much population and kinda not brilliant retention, and those "fixes" will definitely cut that even more. The logic it like that: you kill slowly>you gel less loot>you can sell less>you can buy less and worse items>your toon weaker and can clear even less and>you will meet the wall pmuch sooner. RIP progression. And this is already with 1. only like 2% of skills available only red maps viable 2. only 4 or so ascendancies not nerfed enough to be still fun in later stages. (From like what..30?) See ninja stats. 3. Tons of junk uniques, whats needs rework to being usable (many of them like ruined already by nerfs, like shaper stuff) 4. Too OP map mods 5. Clutter on screen effects and overload from too much afterdeath effects overlapping each others. 6. People are already complaining about too much hp of monsters and especially bosses. This is just from the top, sure I forgot about more issues - they exist. But got tired already typing. So.. Make a conclusions by yourself.. Last edited by DarkJen#6961 on Nov 3, 2020, 8:06:15 PM

" There's so much wrong in this post... where to even begin? 1) If I sound like a blizzard employee, I must be a bad one since I said that while D3 does a couple things right that PoE does wrong, PoE does 100 things right that D3 does wrong. 2) As mentioned in the OP, these changes would require a game-wide rebalance. Killing slowly doesn't have to mean less loot. Hypothetical Example: A unique item drops currently an average of 1 in 1000 kills. If we kill half as fast post-balance, and uniques drop an average of 1 in 500 kills, then you get the same amount of loot, rendering the rest of your statement moot. 3) 2% of skills are viable you say? People have killed all end game bosses with all skills. Name even a single skill that isn't viable. Yes some are stronger than others, but all are viable. Same goes for ascendencies. 4) I agree that screen clutter is bad. Slowing gameplay and reducing multi-target attacks will HELP that, not hurt. 5) Too much HP on bosses? 1000s of builds kill them in seconds. Yeah, think before you post.
" I do agree. These suggestions would kill PoE, especially Softcore mode. I love PoE because of being able to scale damage and clear speed indefinitely. And it should stay that way. |

Logic: PoE must be more hardcore! We need death penalty in softcore for it to be more hardcore!!!
"There's no thing like random one-shots in this game. You only die because you take 353,456,237 hits in 0.2 seconds."

" Might want to work on your reading comprehension before you go on about "logic". This post isn't about death penalties; it's about damage spikes, one-shot deaths and how to fix them. Or did you like getting one-shot in softcore? Last edited by KZA#6416 on Nov 3, 2020, 9:04:54 PM
