There is no way to farm enough to keep up. I play 4-6 hours a day and just can't do it anymore.

OK, for those who are not understanding the way Multiboxing works listen here. You can multi box all you want, it's when people use a 3rd party software (client) to make all boxes move in unison. It makes all 6 individual boxes work as one meaning a single click does the exact same action for all open windows instead of ALT+TAB to each individual box and manually moving each individual toon.

It is ruining the economy. Heres how:
Take a witch with a lot of energy shield and add Wondertraps with Righteous fire and various other gear with IIQ and IIR and watch your screen EXPLODE with loot. Now Take all the loot you would see drop in a full public game and give it all to one player. Can you imagine reaping every single piece of currency and gear to yourself?
People are gaining a significant advantage on buying gear through trade (they have exactly 5X the amount of loot you have, they are running 6 toons to our one toon). Once they place a mild bid on some of the elite gear out there they strap it to all their bots and take it out of circulation. Then they farm like crazy and take the stuff they found and resell it for a hefty price because they have multiple items like it. Meaning 7/10 items are from Multiboxers and they are increasing prices, they have the majority of it so they can do it.

As far as ruining the game, it is. Heres how:
It's not ruining the gameplay persay. The game play and building of toons is pure 100% satisfaction, second to none in any of todays ARPG's.
What it is doing is discouraging players to keep trying to upgrade one single piece of gear for the price of 10+ exalts or more. Im not saying go out and trade for ALL your gear, that would be no fun at all, but you cant even trade for one. These people have a vast amount of currency and sneeze at items for 10 exalts. Not only that, they can turn around and go farm it back within a days time. The smart people understand it's ruining the game because they are being overtaken on the gear they should be able to purchase with legit loot.

To all those who say, "Keep farming and you will out loot them, i am just quit QQ'ing"....ROFLMFAO (Jim Carry voice "HAAAA")

Like i said, i hope you all figure out that playing this game without a 3rd party client/sodtware for your Multiboxes will just get you swept under the rug. You will watch people post amazing builds with amazing gear/Gems and wonder "How the hell are they getting that!? I never find that stuff or have the currency to even get one piece of that gear."
We will be forced to either take part in it or play the game on a significant lower level then these people. We shouldn't have to adjust to this. They should be banned and play the game like it's supposed to be played.

Multiboxing rules. Forums are overused and boring because of replies like yours.

They solve nothing and get us no where. I'll troll these forums for another day or two. It's full of new player to the game. They are gunna hate when they put a couple hundred hours in and wonder how the fuck they are going to come up with 10+ exalts when trade chat is scrolling 200 posts a minute and trade forums are lost in Archives.

I can see why Charan disappeared into thin air. Pointless expressing any kind of opinion to this game and its community with out pointless replies like the one quoted. Too many under educated people that think their 1 liners are so cool and relevant.

Good luck. I'm not going to spend another minute grinding Ledge, Fellshrine, Western Forest, and maps that gain no EXP or the currency to keep up with the rest of the cheaters in this game.

Not sure what to say about this.
GGG did a great thing when they invalidated the art of multi-clienting and just having 5 extra characters simply be inside the instance to boost the IIQ, but with a multi-boxer making say a dual totem spark build, they can simply click their mouse button twice and fill a room with 12 Spark totems in under a couple of seconds...pretty sick.

There is nowhere else left to run to. I believe I have downloaded and played almost all of the ARPGs there is to play, unless there is some obscure Korean one that just came out in the last couple weeks that is hard to find and doesn't get much press.

It sounds silly, but the last bastion of fair play in online gaming is playing first person shooters on a console, and even that is not virgin, but it is AS CLOSE as your going to get on this planet and still be playing with/against other players online. You play the same shooter on PC, you can forget about it, it is non stop cat and mouse against the aim botters.

All I can say is, keep playing and hope you get a gear drop that the mulit-boxers like and are willing to pay a grip of Exalts for... They get to buy 6 lottery tickets to your 1, but they can still get burnt and you could win.

Yea a lot has to happen for me to come back and grind when my group has left already. Even if i was too stay and find that lottery ticket item it still doesn't correct the problem at hand. Trading for an item is already at a peak, no body wants anything besides a 5L/6L tri resist +life some regen of life/mana and thats it. For weapons its the same thing, a variation of 5 different suffixs and prefixs depending on the build other wise no one wants it. It used to be people would go through 6,7 even 8 weapons before finding the right one, now the multiboxers have tons of them.

Buy from 3rd party, pay a multiboxer...done.

People are hoarding their currencies to buy that big ticket item that all the Multiboxer's are finding, no body can sell their decent finds because of this, they will only get wealthier. There is no in-between. Farming for items is irrelevant and it's impossible to keep up on farming currency. People bitch about using 500 fusing but to be honest, its cheaper and more likely to get what you want than to pay for the outrageous prices that are now set in stone for gear.

Meh this can go on for days. Point is Multiboxing has already ruined the PoE experience, people will figure it out on their own soon enough. Hopefully GGG will just negate this Multiboxing and let these multiboxers stash items and currency wither away. After that time will level the playing field.

The reason why all your friends at 80+ quit wasn't because multiboxing exclusively, but also because the map system, the lack of endgame content (e.g. lvl 80+), and this non-friendly trade chat/trade forums. Hell what do you expect when Act 3 isn't even finished yet?

However, I will say that the nerf to multiboxers also nerfed the legitimate farmers. With the decline of players I've noticed over the past couple weeks, the only way I can afford an a good upgrade to my character - a 6L comes to mind - is to be lucky and get an item I can sell for ~10 exalt to buy a 6L. I'd be completely hopeless if I didn't have a character that was my IIQ/IIR farmer or if I didn't run a trade shop (that I merely put up with so I have another source of currency, but freaking hate).

Unless GGG takes a strong stance against multiboxing or multi-clienting and start banning people they find breaking these rules, this will continue to be a never-ending problem with this game and any other type of ARPG that has this type of loot drop mechanic.

It sounds like you are describing the supply vs demand problem and the dwindling PoE players over the past few weeks. Of course with less new players coming in, everyone is getting to the point where they are looking for 'endgame' gear and we cannot sell shit nowadays because people are looking for the best of the best.

However, maybe what we are discussing here is NOT the multibox problem, but the overall softcore server stability of the economy. Because no content is being taken out of softcore, unlike hardcore, the server will eventually hit a point where everyone is high lvl looking for max gear and nothing except the best sells and there are no new players coming in to buy the non-best items. Eventually, the softcore server will get so screwed at a certain point that stuff will be super expensive - oh we hit that point already in OB...
