Wait, I was supposed to visit the Barber to unveil my blueprint details?
" I haven't played Heist, and I don't plan to really, but c'mon, this is bullshit. Providing significant league mechanic details in some lines of dialogue, that could easily be missed / forgotten, is shit development strategy imo. Then again this whole league has been a shitshow, and it's only two weeks old. In my view, lets not blame the players for poor development, bugs, crashes, over-tuned monsters, loot balance, and more. Lets let the statistical numbers play out and see how this league was received by the players in general, not just the ones that come to the forums to bitch / complain / white knight / shill, or try to win imaginary online points. " A agree, players should not be blamed for poor development, bugs, crashes, over-tuned monsters, loot balance "and more". GGG should be blamed for this, and they have - especially in Heist - done a piss poor job when it comes to these elements. But I like to discuss the topic at hand. GGG doing a piss-poor job at mechanical stuff isn't an explenation for this topic. We should blame GGG for what they do wrong, not use what they do wrong to explain other stuff. A LOT of games, especially in the "XRPG" genres, do introduce game play mechanics, especially when it comes to "which NPC does what" through voice lines. I don't see anything wrong with this. At all. What so ever. I even prefer it over pop-ups, hand-helding and on-screen "tips and tricks". Of course, it also helped that GGG talked about this before the league, that there's a challenge about "reveals" and that you see the chat option "reveal blueprint detailes" everytime you buy a blueprint. And you know, the text "Use intelligence to reveal additional rooms and wings by talking to certain NPCs in the Rogue Harbour..." on every blueprint -> the game telling you to talk to the NPCs. Again, let us put blame on GGG where and when blame is due. This is not one of those times. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Sep 30, 2020, 3:45:57 PM

Like, Heist has all sorts of problems, but literally the FIRST quest you do in town has you talking to everyone, including the barber, where he straight up TELLS you about how he reveals blueprints.

" It's more of a design thing, when I first talked to the barber I didn't know what blueprints were or why they needed anything revealed. --
I don't have alpha access, that was a LONG time ago. |

In defense of the OP's position, GGG did deign it necessary to give us a tutorial contract to teach us how to Heist, but the more convoluted Grand Heist didn't get a tutorial. What sense does that make?
It is still the case that my Gianna and Niles say that 'completing a xxx mission will award a reveal' and it this is still a lie > 90% of the time. |

" So? Your point is? Tell us when you are actually able to go to the Rogue Harbor and discover the Barber.Isn't it on the coast like every other league mechanic? Ya know before any act boss? |

" Ya this is where I really have to step back and just cradle my head in my palms. Completely ignoring the introduction to the league mechanic where it holds your hand and explains everything in fully voiced dialog, OK, I can see somebody in a rush accidentally skipping that. But it tells you what to do on every goddamn item. Just... how, how can anyone miss that and then have the audacity to complain the game doesn't explain things? Although I agree they did provide an opportunity to know that the barber reveals things, it was at a point in the progression where most probably didn't even know what a blueprint was, let alone revealing it.
They made you speak to the people before being able to do their questline contracts. They should have made it so that you couldn't start a blueprint until you revealed at least one thing on the blueprint in a similar fashion. There is a difference between making the information available, and making the information obvious. They failed on the latter. But like others have said, reveals turn into the bottleneck later so the damage is minimal. Thanks for all the fish! Last edited by Nubatron#4333 on Oct 2, 2020, 7:19:31 AM
