Wait, I was supposed to visit the Barber to unveil my blueprint details?

That's two *wasted* blueprints I've run then. If there was some mention of needing to unveil the blueprint details by using the Barber, I missed it. Would have been nice if it was even mentioned somewhere in the planning room, or in part of the planning room process.

i didnt know about this either and i've wasted more than you...this game never explains anything. its pretty shitty how they let you run and waste your blueprints, there should be some kind of a warning.
Blueprints generally become more common than the coin needed to unlock details, so if you didnt unveil them yet, dont worry, it just means you have more coin for later blueprints.

I run blueprints with only key details revealed (before you reveal, it gives you an idea what is in the heist "unusual gems" is usually very good, "altered equipment" usually is terrible)

Uhhh, it did tell you that the Barber reveals blueprints. Pay attention next time. Or at the very least whenever you're introduced to a new character, investigate their dialogue options.
Don't blame GGG because you were lazy.

when did it tell me? i only talked to the guy ONE TIME when i first had to talk to everyone in the harbor.. was i really supposed to read all his lore that one time just so i dont miss critical information like this? as if anyone does that.
i'd bet anything you didnt either and only know because someone told you or you read it on reddit somewhere

if anyone is lazy then its GGG,they NEVER had any tutorials for any league. it was always up to the players to figure it out on their own. not to mention every league is an untested buggy mess that is barely playable. this league was the worst.

Can't speak for Gulch, but when I checked what the barber offered, I found that he sold contracts and had the option to "reveal blueprint details".
So when a BP finally dropped, I tried it and lo and behold... wings added, exits added... good stuff.
So with a little investigation as to what those NPCs actually do, you could have found out as well.

i clicked his name once so the exclamation mark goes away...it never came back so i never visited him again. i could run grand heists without him, usually games wont let you progress if you're doing something wrong, but this game will let you keep screwing up and lose your stuff. oh well

Well, it's not really wrong, as others have explained. You've saved many coins that way.
I for example, thought I'd get that "run a gh with at least 3 wings revealed" part of a challenge as early as I could. Dumped some 5000 markers on the BP, ran one wing, portaled to the Harbour to unburden me from the loot and, yeah, portal bug hit me.
Second GH I tried to run, door bug. Couldn't complete. Also invested quite a few markers.
Third GH... I think I completed it. But I ran it raw. No alchs, no revealing... just the blueprint.

When you're first introduced to the barber he tells you.
As for the bet, you're wrong, I immediately knew he did blueprint reveals...BUT I immediately forgot that he did them because I didn't run a blueprint for a few days after that. It was only my 3rd run that I remembered he revealed blueprints.
Besides, it's not like you were running super juiced up ilvl 83 blueprints alc'd and vaal'd. If anything you saved yourself 20k in Rogue Markers because of the instance bug.
Even if you were running high level super juiced blueprints, the loot is so horrible. Empy has a video of a full group running one and the loot makes you cry it's so bad.
So consider yourself lucky.

So, you want GGG to tell you stuff, but to actually read and listen to voice lines and stuff (you know, GGG telling you stuff), is not your thing? So... They ARE telling you stuff, they're just not telling you stuff in the way you want them too?

If you did the minimum amount of effort, and listen/read what the assistant and the barber actually had to say, you would know this.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
