Does POE feel less scary than Diablo?
Is it just me or does POE feel less scary than Diablo?
The theme itself of POE seems creepier than the Diablo series, but the speedkilling of everything on screen and the less scarier looking character models make poe less scarier when actually playing the game. Even the Heist league has that slightly uplifting feeling of an Ocean's Eleven movie. I think Blizzard's diablo series had a higher budget for artwork and that had an impact on the feel of playing it. What do you guys think? My dream game would be POE game mechanics with Diablo 4 style artwork... Last bumped on Sep 30, 2020, 7:58:19 AM

One thing I must add about poe is tho is that the microtransactions makes up for the occasionally dull default character and monster models.

Something like resident evil 7 is scary if you play it the first time.
These hack'n slash games only give chills on hardcore mode where you can actually lose your whole character. Especially in content you are unfamiliar with. |

Just play HC. Nothing scarier than lag, making PoE the scariest game of all time.

Diablo 1? Absolutely.
Diablo 3? Not even close. https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/988f3369-4b68-4eb9-bc0e-edfce4c3c950

Diablo 3 succumbed to evil butterfly magics. |

PoE kind of slowly evolved away from being strictly fantasy horror over time to being more about a lot of the lore it presents, and many of the horror elements started to become filtered through a more comedic sense with newer NPCs having very expressive personalities.

Ya, I love comedic personalities mixed with a sense of seriousness in POE NPCs.
And agreed, hack n slash games aren't really that horrific compared to real horror genre games - I don't know many since I don't play them, but agreed. |
