so is this also "the worst league ever" or worth playing

I am having fun with it. Heist just prints coins.
It's another example of GGG scraping the bottom of the barrel and trying to crowbar mechanics into the game which just don't fit. Last league it was Factorio, this time it's Metal Gear. It's clear they are out of ways to make an ARPG interesting and are desperately trying to mix other genres into the game.

It's also another massive "fuck you" to softcore by forcing us to deal with the specific gameplay style we picked hardcore to avoid, and since hardcore is already hardcore it doesn't even effect them.

Oh and one-shots everywhere, because GGG has literally no concept of how to make the game difficult beyond raw math. This could have been an opportunity to introduce more puzzles and a few interesting door-and-key bits, but it's just more mindless numbers being hurled at us.

The first 4 days of the league were the most fun I've had in PoE to date, the league mechanic was refreshing, challenging and a breath of fresh air from the humdrum of constantly spamming maps.

This was because of two big cornerstones of the league, stealth and escape: sadly, on day 4, they deleted one of those things with the changes to alert.

The escape is still decently challenging (some of the most enjoyable combat in PoE ever), but the league is now a shadow of its former self. The first part of heists is now boring AF.

This balances out to an "OK" league, but the knowledge of how much better it was for the first four days leaves a very sour taste.

If the changes are not reverted, or revised to something that isn't terrible, I'll be skipping the rest of the league - but you might get some enjoyment out of the escape combat.

(Don't get me wrong: we needed changes to the alert system - just not ones that delete stealth entirely.)

The league's also been quite buggy, which is causing frustrations for a bunch of people, but I haven't had too many issues on that front.

I don't suggest it unless you like being punished and losing all your loot for external reasons most of the time (bugs, overtunned damage or lack of balance)

However.. it's a good filler if you're waiting for other games to release either new content or entire new games.

Try it in a month. If you try now you will just end up getting mad at the bugs and brokeness and quit.

Heist League - GGG
Why can't they fix the lag spikes? With time being critical in the heists, it is too frustrating. I agree with a previous post about the flow of the game. That's why I never liked the Delve. It's like the devs can't decide what this game is about. I turned off the voices because the npc yelling was too distracting during the heists. What I also don't like in the heist is how all of a sudden I get surrounded by mobs and can't escape. So I'll try again after I level up some more.

It's got potential but is broken on levels comparable to Wolcen.
And there're so many decisions on the overall QoL in this league that feels stupid from a creative perspective.

clunky curses, crackling lance, currency loss on death (crash), "waitrooms" for rogue jobs, fucking choke points with untargetable overturned aura mobs and infinite spawning....
Hell, they even broke the launch commands, --noasync doesn't work at all.
