Controlled Destruction

And I agree with the general sentiment, bosses almost feel faster than most packs.

My storm brand is performing about as well as I'd expect so far, doing t12/13 maps. I'm playing assassin using Rune Binder and several cluster jewels with Grand Design, Brand Loyalty, and Holy Conquest. I convert most of the damage to cold with 2 Call of the Brotherhood rings. Links are Swift Brand, Controlled Destruction, Concentrated Effect, Cold Penetration, and Hypothermia. Maybe the cluster jewels and Herald of Ice shatters are helping my clear enough that I don't spot a chaining/AOE issue, but the single target feels appropriate against Awakener 3/4 conquerors.

Just to clarify, we all know storm brand was changed so that it always drops back to its first placement, so it doesn't auto chain anymore.
But still, the dmg in packs (>1) feels completely off to 3.11. Single target seems fine.

So, I have been playing more and got my cast speed up significantly. Also switched to Cold and using 2 large clusters now. I changed my enchant to an additional chain chance. DPS is around 4M in PoB.

Bosses are melting but there are still issues with clearing packs. I'd like to hear some clarification from GGG on this.

I just went back to my Standard character which is geared out of this world (Harvest gear (80 cast speed from wands alone + HH + Badge) and Storm Brand couldn't clear Alva's rooms with 16 charges and 24 HH buffs - 100% delirious map. Wasn't an issue in Harvest, and I also delved to 2.5k in Harvest with this build.

Quick edit: Both my current Heist character and my Standard character have their crit chance capped, had to actually double-check myself in case I was talking out of my butt.

Here's what I did, it's my gear/build I used last league, and clearing is pretty good.


1) Three Dragons Mask

2) 1 Large Cold dmg Cluster with Blast-Freeze

3) Chain Support

4) Herald of Ice (I always ran Wrath, Herald of Ice, and Herald of Thunder with Enlighten)


I always ran my own version of this build with these items, once I reverted back to these it almost feels like 3.11 -- yes, it's still not 100% what it was, but I boom the whole screen in 1 click.

Three dragons is 1 chaos, a cold cluster with Blast-Freeze alone is like 5-10c. Give it a try before you guys quit, it's only a few C and it's working quite well for me.

Gear is weak right now, and booming T15 maps like nothing anyways.

I'm on wrath, hatred, herald of ice + thunder, chain, even tried holy conquest cluster jewel. I'm on 96% cold conversion.
Will try harder with more damage.

But the guy who tested his standard character basically confirms that sth is off.

Yes my standard character is different too.

Don't do cold conversion, it didn't work for me it lowered my damage significantly. Memoria in his build thread said it still didn't feel right.

Give what I suggested a try, look at my clusters as well. They helped a lot, but they were a bonus last league and this league a complete necessity. You need 4 medium brand clusters as well, don't need the expensive ones.

promise, I'm clearing T15 maps with no effort.

EDIT: My POB dps is 400k. Zero problems.
