Replicas Encourages Scamming / Heisting

Oof.

The replies in here weren't unexpected, but still just as awful. Imagine laughing about, and damn-near supporting incoming scams because... I dunno, some inner desire to see bad things happen to people.

I imagine if you're trading FOR the replica, you're then aware of the original version, and will make sure to be sure.

But that's basically only 33% of the options here.

2) You're trading for the original and don't know about the replica.
3) You're trading for the original and do know about the replica.

#2 players are toast, if the other player wishes.

Yes, it's easy to say dumb shit like, "Lol shoulda learned how to read." But saying things like that just means you need to tattoo "fuckass" onto your forehead, because that's not an Ok response to someone being hard-punished for not living exactly the way you do.

OVERALL, I imagine there are easy things for GGG to do. The easiest might be some noticeable message, maybe unavoidable popup, that says something like... "WARNING: REPLICA/NON-REPLICA". Or, put a noticeable "affix" text on the item, as well as maybe some tweak to the artwork like a "badge" somewhere.

Alternatively, I can see them doing nothing, so as to further support their forced mantra of having a chaotic, cutthroat, unfun environment, where only the strong go onward in... this... ... video game.

What do you not understand about replicas being visually distinct from the originals? This is the dumbest thread.
you want to buy X

seller invites you and start trade with X

buyer look at it and put money in trade tab.

seller cancel trade and say sorry.

start new trade ( here is where many just want a trade to be over ) with a fake item that look same but with wrong stats.

be aware folks
scamming was originally a feature of the harshness of wraeclast. tru OGs know that
if anything replicas should discourage it because people have an obvious gameplay reason to check the fucking trade window.

Heres a hint those getting scammed, check the trade window, the more your paying the more you should check nobody gives a toss if you take 30 seconds checking an item your paying 10ex for.

Or do you love spending all day on poe trade?

I've played PoE for 7 years, and I've experienced ONE scam attept. "All day"? Why are you feeling the need to hyperbole this into oblivion? It takes ONE second to hover your mouse over an item to check if it's the item you want.

Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
auction house pls
I'm sorry, but people need to take some self responsibility. Read the item before you accept the trade. Not that the scammers aren't fully deserving of retribution, but it's ultimately our fault if we don't read it properly.
There should be items like "Fake Kaom's Heart" with Krangled mod that do nothing
Need more brains, exile?
