where are all free gears?

People tend not to give free shit when they did put effort into creating their items \ having lucky drops after trillions of maps

It's like billionaires
Why can't they give me 1 million dollars? It's not even 1% for them but they will make my whole life happy

Or like.. why can't everyone on the planet Earth send me 10 cents?

Well, i do, but not often enough to say i'm giving free shit to randoms

I understand this was mostly a troll, but I do have to admit that I used to make "Free" lobby games in Diablo 2 all the time.

It was a way to get low level items for re-rolling characters and for people that needed them and were new (or season reset)

Hell I didnt need the items, and someone else did. A decent life lesson too.

I give away free stuff all the time. The only reason I don't play true SSF is so I can give stuff away. I save my leveling gear just for that purpose. I think it keeps the community positive and it may help people keep playing POE. In the eight years I've been playing I've only taken one piece of gear and that's a mace someone gave me when I hit the new player wall. Because i was able to progress I learned more about the game and I'm here to this day trying to get the POE monkey off my back so I can play something different.

But, as soon as I hear "Who's giving away their gear?" that person doesn't stand a chance of getting anything. Why? One, that person may just be trying to flip it as opposed actually needing it. Two, you have to at least try to play on your own. I hang out in the lower chat rooms and wait for people who are struggling with life and resists and I'll help them because at least they're trying to progress on their own.

I got I think... 50 exalted orbs from a guy with like 2 weeks of metamorph left b/c he was done with the league. I was in general chat and he was doing riddles, first person to get the answer right got the prizes. I got lucky and got the big one. People do giveaways all the time in general chat, typically around the time you see everybody vaaling their headhunters. Just have to actually play the game and, for whatever reason, have general chat open.

Would be cool if they made it a bit easier to give away free stuff, outside of the confines of a guild.

Within our guild we are always giving each other free stuff.

Trade is fine for trade, but kind of sucks when you are trying to get rid of a bunch of stuff by giving to others that need it.

After the end of league when everyone migrates to standard, people give away a lot of stuff. If you don't know anyone, go to Lioneye's Watch in Act 1. Look for public parties. There are always people throwing stuff on the ground on the Coast. They are just outside the door. There will be parties named "Free Stuff On the Coast" or a similar name.

Join the party and grab what you want. Wait for others to join and drop more stuff. Just make sure at least one person stays in the party, and enters the Coast enough to keep the instance from resetting. If nothing is out there, just wait.

It's not as active as it used to be, but people still do it. You can even form your own party and wait for joiners.
