While all the hype is about Heist...

After years of no expansions from WOW as well as lack of MMORPGs Shadowlands is what GGG should be worried about not Cyberpunk 2077 or other single player games. I intend to play the crap out of Shadowlands through the winter, and the question is why shouldn't I?

Path of Exile also most likely won't deliver anything significant until March because of Shadowlands. Path of Exile PvE (specifically its bossing and progression) is nowhere close to the quality of World of Warcraft. Path of Exile multiplayer (guild/group/trade) is way worse than World of Warcraft and then there's actual PvP in WOW.

World of Warcraft is also more casual friendly. I'm honestly confused why GGG hasn't recognized this and adjusted accordingly to co-exist alongside Shadowlands or perhaps they're throwing in the towel and stepping on the side as the giant is coming through. PoE will still maintain some player base since its F2P, but I believe GGG has lost an opportunity with the best of its Twitch streamers by not doing enough, at least not for me to keep my interest.

I'm still thankful Path of Exile is around. For me PoE has been that F2P filler game until the next AAA multiplayer game arrives. The Heist timing is nice where I get to play it for few weeks until Shadowlands and that's still not certain, since the patch is not out yet.

World of Warcraft overall offers a far better social experience on top of a superior theme park experience compared to an aged and outdated PoE theme park. PoE has a long way to go to directly compete with a new WOW expansion with these mini "theme park" expansions/leagues, and at the end it won't be just WOW. I honestly don't see how Path of Exile 2 will remain relevant in late 2021 and beyond unless it drastically changes its core game design formula and its overall use/management of resources.

The only good thing Path of Exile has going right now is that it's in a far better shape from a technical as well as graphical perspective. I still believe this game has hope if it focuses on what games like WOW are lacking. The 15+ years outdated match making ranking in World of Warcraft as example it's why that game has struggled outside of guild vs guild competition, and whenever the content (theme park) has lagged behind other F2P games like Path of Exile has managed to take advantage.

anyone who plays WOW in 2020 is not right in the head.

Also players who play POE all cahpters on every league again and again and again, just for play small new part that GGG added ingame. Im so sick of all that shit, all lab trials and all same maps, same atlas and so on. Atleast WOW expansions and patches brings new content. Harvest garden isnt new content its just small new miningame inside old crap.

I had to google shadowlands....
Can we ask you to not come back at all? Please?

I heard this before btw with WoW Classic, half the playerbase left for it to try it out, had fun for 1 month and then they came back on their knees and the playerbase even grew reaching new records at league starts after WoW Classic.

By the tine shafowlands hits most will be done with the league anyway..

Also by the time the next poe league is announced WoW players will be at the weekly reset point, so its win/win really.

Well, I'm not exactly innocent when it comes to some good ole Walls O' Text, but I at least try to keep them relevant and inclusive; I strive to generate a meaningful outcome. The issue with Kpoptart's posts is they don't really invite discussion or dialogue. They're just monologues. Declarations. And that's why the responses are almost always dismissive or scathing: it's insulting to tell everyone there's a party but they're not invited, only to hear about how awesome it was...when there's every chance it wasn't -- which then turns the insult into a target for mockery. Ad hominem is really only a logical fallacy if there's much of an argument to begin with. If you can't attack the argument...well, it follows what you will attack when someone thinks they're making an argument but is actually just sharing their relatively irrelevant opinion.

edit: rather interesting article I found from 2008 about re-evaluating the ad hominem and its relevance as a genuine rebuttal

It's almost clever, the way he makes Off-Topic posts but keeps them in GD by speciously mentioning how said Off-Topic post might relate to PoE. Reminds me of something a dinosaur might do.

Yes, and it's being simplified all the time for the brainless boomers who still actually play it.
