GGG truly can't win. There are scores of people threatening to quit if Harvest crafting doesn't go core and in comes this guy saying he still can't get good items in a reasonable time frame.

Baloney. No one is going to quit. The next league is going to probably be just as popular as Harvest, if not more.

Everyone needs to chill

I agree, but that's not a very high bar to surpass if Steam numbers indicate anything.

Last time I looked at the steam charts, harvest was up there

I could be wrong tho

I played HC harvest last week for about 3 hours a day and got to lvl90. New league, fresh start, etc. Just did it for the lvl90 HC achievement. This is what I ended up with:

I think that's pretty decent for 3 hours a day for a week. Game knowledge is more important than time spent and it's not something that can be handed out. It takes time to learn.

Partially agree on the Streamers/No-Lifers.

GGG listens to their "Game is too ez" while they abuse broken stuff, and instead of nerfing the overpowered stuff they increase the overall game difficulty while killing a lot of fun but average builds in the process.

That made me stop playing the game, because I enjoy coming up with my own builds which were suboptimal, but were working up to T15 maps. I wasn't obliterating everything but it was fun to play. Not anymore.

It's not really the no-lifers' fault. That's on GGG and their terrible balance decisions. Too much dps check and extreme disparity between builds.

Disagree about loot though, it's based around trading and seems just fine for that.

This is how casuals ruin every game:

- There's a game
- This game has a following, players and streamers
- Get interested in the game
- Come to the game
- Don't like the game
- Try to tell those players and streamers who have been enjoying this game for years before you came should instead adopt your vision, because their vision and the vision of the devs, the actual thing that made the game popular and made sure you, personally, have heard about it, is not comfortable for you
- Game turns to shit
- Become a 'refugee' again and ruin some other game

The life cycle of every online game depends on how long the game devs resist caving into short sighted, instant gratification demands from people on all sides. Investors, casuals, you name it. People say casuals make up the majority of players and therefore fund the game. I say this: poe is living proof that designing a game for hardcore gamers increases the longevity of the game and therefore is more profitable in the long term :)

Just came across this. I'd like to use it as my forum signature.
So TLDR but

you are mad you cant be as rich/succesful in the game as them and somehow that affects your enjoyment of the game?

sounds like a remarkably personal issue to me

stop giving a shit about what others are doing and just, now stay with me here,
play the video game however its fun to you.

crazy i know

but it works

/edit looking at your characters it seems you build pretty badly you cant expect to do well geared like that

PoE does have horrible drop-rates though 100% balanced around trade & currency orbs, it's a trade simulator when it comes to gear progression, sadly.

Gone is the excitement that was Diablo 2 loot-hunt, how a true ARPG should play imho. There is something in between ''instant gratification'' (Diablo 3) and horrible drop rates(PoE).

The only reason PoE gets away with it is because there is currently no real (online) competition.

One of the main reasons I play poe is trading. I just love to trade, to make currency, etc. If poe was like d3 (all loot bind on pick up to character), I wouldn't play PoE, would get borred as of D3. Here you hear exalt drop, and you know - gear upgrade incoming. In D3 nothing excites you (maybee firs ram. gift).
My very old mmorpg Lineage2 had full rounded trade system, where almost every single item could be traded. And now I also play WoW which has very limited trading, which is not as fun.
PoE is a complex, hardcore grinding game which we all love, and which is not for game-hoping casuals - and as long as it stays this way - it will have stable playerbase.

I personally play 2h per working day and more during my off days and I still manages too get 37/40 in 4 weeks. Granted my gear and builds are no where near as good as the top players but it doesn't need to be.

This.

I know of people who work and play like you do and still achieving 36.

Basically, people should stop procrastinating in hideout. A productive 2 hrs always beat an unproductive 4 hrs.

[Removed by Support]

4% of all poe users made it to challenge 24.
Only 0.3% to 36.
There's all you need to know okay?
The game is way WAY too hard, gated, and tailored for the elite.

This should be a fun game, not "watch 50 hours of lectures and tutorials how to min max your time put into the game, 10 tips how to get efficient in looting leveling and farming, lecture 101 how to speedrun" etc.
And poe has gone the opposite direction more every year.
Instead of letting TRUE CASUAL players with 1-2h a day see, experience and clear all the end bosses and content on their own, they just raised the bar so the main player base can't even get maps.

And they didn't even bother thinking about difficulty option that cuts down exp/loot dramatically respectfully to monster dmg resistances/life pool/dmg, so said casuals could actually play the game through on their own and ENJOY it, [Removed by Support] I said all the exp, mega special loot, mirrors exalts etc is restricted to drop only for you on your "hardmode" normal difficulty. But no, even that isn't good enough for them, and the only "argument" they can muster up is "you have to EARN it".

Earn what? I have the 4 atziri pieces, there's NOTHING TO EARN. Everyone has them. Problem is there is no [Removed by Support] combat log so you can't learn shit.
Use up 6 portals walk up to atziri, boom you died. Repeat 6 times and still none the wise UNLESS YOU GOOGLE WIKI TUTORIAL VIDEO [Removed by Support] for some datamining nerd to break down dmg and mechanics and omg can you shut the fuck up and let people PLAY THE FUCKING GAME?....

This is a perfectly fine and reasonable request to add a easy mode with super low boss life, dmg, and no loot tables. Just let us LEARN a boss fight on our own, that's literally what 99% of players want to do instead of watching one more [Removed by Support] tutorial so we can repeat that shit step by step like sheep which is the most furthest from what can be considered satisfying.

Did anyone [Removed by Support] see the death stats btw?
Merveil killed 99% of all players... First act boss is so hard she's the deadliest area in the entire fucking game [Removed by Support]

Play how you want not how you think you should. Streamers promote PoE and give the community a focus as well as a presence on Twitch, they are a necessary evil. PoE has a reputation of being a hard-core game they would be stupid to throw that away and lose their core audience.

PoE can be played how you want, causal or hard-core, you can be bad or the elite. If you're the former don't expect to match the powers and abilities of those with more time and knowledge than you. I've learnt to accept i'll never be as good as the 1% but I still have fun creating my own characters and playing casually.

This post was rendered unnecessary, because the poster in question was already put on probation. *shrugs*
