thats nothing really, in dantes inferno you have to fight lots of demon zombie babies that were never baptized so they grow hooks on their hands and try to kill you

You know, if this game was rated M or even Ao, how hard would it really be hit? I mean, it's not like PoE is going to be on the shelves of Walmart. People will be downloading it for free, from the site anyway. And, all the people contributing money are adults with incomes high enough that they pay voluntarily.
I say toss in as much gore and nudity as you feel profitable. Keep them buy ins only, through the shop, so those offended won't be exposed to that stuff. The problem with making M or AO rated games probably have more to do with trying to reach an audience where local laws on video games are harsher than those in the US. It also brings all the legal troubles related to soccer moms too lazy to do their own parenting getting their panties up in a wad when they find out their kid is looking at porn and playing violent games on their PC.
