You would be right, IF GGG had used a standard procedure for their 3d models but they didnt - for whatever reason.
Maybe back then it made sense and we are talking about decision made pre-alpha, which are still affecting the game.

Right now its holding the game back. They cant just add new models without increasing the workload massively. They have to rework all existing models as well as every single MTX in the game to make it work and thats why its not happening right now.


It might happen though when poe2 is launched, if they decided to overhaul everything and go all the way.
According to the devs themselves the current system just cant deal with it.

I think once they overhaul the models and get PoE2 going, the biggest roadblock will probably be getting voice acting talent for the new character options.

I'm one of those people who really dislike to play characters of the opposing gender, so I would love for there to at least be more female options as I tend to roadblock myself into having to find a build for only 3 classes.

However this season I am trying playing a marauder for the first time and as others have said once you put them in MTX and you're jumping around and filling the screen with spell effects you can't really tell so its not too bad, but I would still prefer to be a girl.

gender lock is one of that multiple rudimental outdated features that this game blindly copied from outdated (but good for its times) game called diablo 2

another outdated systems:
flasks, acts 1-10 per every character, loot pickup mechanics etc

Id prove you wrong but someone already did the work for me.

i havent seen any meaningful arguments against a variant with a model transfer. ex: im playing elementalist, i use model transfer, im still elementalist, but with shadow model: voicelines, appearance. no need to rework any MTX, no need to create new models. i say this feature could be done by a few developers within 1 work day.

i dont know whos shagsbeard, probably some forum [censored] that i have in my forum ignore tampermonkey script list, so his messages are invisible to me, along with other forum [censored].

Get rid of gender character models. It makes zero difference in gameplay. Lowest priority and most ridiculous request in any ARPG. [Removed by Support]

If you arent willing to listen to the actual devs on why their character model system is crap and it wont be done then I cant help you.

If it was as easy as a skin transfer Im sure it would have already been done.
