Difference between Blizzard and GGG

2008? What are you smoking?
The game's first reveal was in 2008.

Heh. I was like how can you know that little about the development. :P

I believe they ultimately looked at the artstyle, but found that it just didn't work out.
(Besides the tech being completely out-dated ofcourse)

In my opinion; a isometric 2d art-style has always looked better for diablo, but being a big company like blizzard these days you're basically required to make games solely in 3d.

Hmm.

Well, I must say that although it has lost some of the mood of D2, the world feels so much more alive.
There's a lot of detail everywhere, I love it.

They "started" work on it in 2003. Since it was not worked on my Erich Schaefer or even Tim Schaefer, i doubt any of it has been kept or even referenced by Blizzard.

Yes, that's what I said. They started it and their work was scrapped.
What are you driving at?

I think what he means is that they didn't even look at the previous work and just started anew completely.
Which seems unlikely.

i agree with some of you that blizzard has dropped the ball with D3. Ive played through the beta and was disappointed at first, but kept playing hoping it would get better, but it only got worse. It just lost the feeling of a diablo game. the darkness is gone, feels very bright, toony, and the voice acting reminds me of bad 80's anime, youtube the skeleton king intro as an example. I'm hoping that this game will fill the void, but right now just disappointed, P.S. if you've played the other games, its very obvious that the original team members had nothing to do with D3, even without having followed development closely

Question: How does it feel bright and toony? The ambience is as dark as D2 or D1 ever way. The visuals are more stylized, but that's as much to take items actually LOOK like something as it is to set it apart from other ARPGs. It's like borderlands, which didn't want to look like every other shooter ever and fade into obscurity. I found the ambience more than satisfactory, it had hat same dark closed in feeling that D2 had in many places.

and so on, and so on... basically ALL the big decision makers for D3 were directly from WOW... and many of the others were influenced by WOW, and I have no doubt that they were specifically instructed to make it as such.

Here: [Tinfoil Hat]

Lets disregard your little conspiracy of blizzard forcing the development of D3 to make it influenced by WoW.

Lets also back up a bit and look at WoW. You can easily see that much of World of Warcraft was influenced by Diablo anyways. Items, Sockets, gems, skill trees, etc.

What is the problem?

Is it really a surprise that blizzard would use their excellent art teams for more then one project?? Shocker I know.
