Yeah, I kinda figured it out last night as to why you had it in 2 spots.

The build is fun. I am liking running malevolence and frostbite auras over Enfeeble, Temporal Chains and Discipline. The damage output is so much better and as long as I am paying attention, I don't die.

I've got 9.5k ES and tons of mana left so I am using these flasks with 1 mana flask and 2 quartz.

I was thinking of foregoing the Whispers of Doom node and putting the 4 extra points elsewhere. Any suggestions? Also, I got a amulet with an anointing modifier

Do I actually have to have the links all the to that node on the passive tree or do I get the effect regardless? I couldn't tell from reading on the wiki.

Thanks again for the easy and understandable builds. There were other builds I looked at but the people who put the guides together write it up for super pro players and it's not very newbie friendly. You have a lot of info in your build guide and you explain everything really well. Nice work!
Thanks Freakynorm!

That's a very kind note. I really appreciate it. Thank you.

Your setup sounds great! If your survivability is as good as you like it, your aura choices and gear are awesome. Good job! If you don't need Whispers of Doom, increasing your AoE with Blast Radius (Notable on the tree) is fun...Especially since you already have Entropy on your amulet. Just keep in mind if you want to remove the curse effectiveness nodes (or not) around Whispers of Doom.

But in terms of Anointments, you don't need any travel nodes to unlock the notable you've crafted. They are a "free" notable that is applied to your build because of the weapon. You don't need to do anything on the tree to deserve it.

Thanks again for your kindness. The encouragement goes a long way :).

Hey Wrecker,

After doing Righteous Fire in 3.11, I figure this build will be cool for 3.12.

Looking forward to the guide update.
Awesome CelticHound!

That's great to hear. It's always great to have you around :). Always play what you like of course, but it's always a pleasure to "see" you. Thanks!

I just wanted to say, thanks for a really well written guide. Love DoT Occulstists and this build is a true leaguestarter, SSF viable. Honest 100%. Gotta love that.
Thanks ArisFuser!

Thank you for taking the time to be so kind. I really appreciate it. Encouragement goes a long way in a critical world. Thank you. I'm glad you liked the build! It's nice to not depend on anything but your own gameplay (SSF) hey? Hopefully you like my planned changes (pending patch notes) for 3.12.

Thanks for your kindness :).

I do still die occasionally, some bosses I struggle with, but then again, it could be the map mods I ran as I don't pay attention sometimes lol. I am still catching up on the various stuff I missed in the last few years.

I got lucky with some of the gear happening to already have a bunch of it. The high ES 6L chest was quite tasty for this build to say the least.

Instead of the Whispers of Doom, I went with adding a large jewel socket and put in a increased DoT, area damage and ES buff. I will take a look at the Blast Radius node and see how it goes with that.

All good ideas Freakynorm

I hope your modifications pane out and kick ass!

I also forget my Map Mods all the time. Oh well. It's still fun :). Thanks for the posts!

Since it's Patch Notes day, this will be my last post here. Thanks again to everyone that gave the build a shot. You're all awesome! I'll see you in 3.12!

The 3.12 version of this guide has now been posted! The build has actually changed a bit. It's now a minion build! It still has three blasphemies though :). It is life-based, so Standard characters will need to gear :(. (Sorry.)

You can find the new version here.

Thank you to everyone! You were all so kind and generous. You make the community a great place to have a hobby! Good luck in 3.12! I can't wait to play it!

Hey everyone, played this build last league and currently this league. I just wanted to give an alternative to the frostbite delivery method, that I've found to be effective, to my liking, and a lot of fun. Instead of Ball Lightning, I instead went for one of the new skills of Heist league: Void Sphere.

I love it aesthetically and of it functionality. Basically why I prefer VS is it swallows in enemies and keeps them in place, as long they aren't an unique. It also hits several times during its duration, so it can recast the curse to increase its duration or to hit enemies who weren't pulled into the void the first time around. Offensively, this means you can hit and run the same area with the enemy unable to follow you too far. Defensively, it keeps something in place where you place a vortex and run. While leveling, I used it as a CWDT alternative. But since I wanted a ranged option with heist, as enemies have the annoying tendency to barricade behind doors, it makes a great offensive debuff attack or just holding and grouping up enemies to an area that lets me slip by. I traded CWDT for Increased Duration.

I feel my build is a bit jank with some of the changes I've made, but I felt that choice of mine has been the most effective so far. My other suggestion is linking Cascade to Frost Bomb, to give it a larger aoe.

Otherwise credit should be given to Wrecker for devising such a simple, but effective enough build.
