Resistances aren't damage reduction so no, Imbalanced Guard doesn't limit them or less/reduced damage taken effects. So transcendence reduce elemental hits further after resistances at the cost of having no physical reduction. Only desireable if you have lots of damage conversion but definitely a powerful concept if you have the budget.
Ok got it.
Theoretically how much is the maximum damage conversion you can get?
I don't think there is a hard cap on it, so it depends on how much you can fit into your gear. I know there is a 30% conversion unique armor, you can get around 15% from helm affix and I believe shields can have it as well. Chieftain has fire conversion on one of his ascendancy nodes. So of the top of my hat i'd say about 50-60% conversion are possible, probably more.

im just super glad that GGG is in charge of making and balancing their game, and not this community, or else it would look like an MMORPG private server at this point, with 30x drop rates, 50x xp rates, and all the most OP shit this game has ever witnessed active all at once.
and nobody would play it

Are you honestly suggesting that kneejerking + herdmentality and lack of game knowledge would make for bad balance decisions? How dare you!

At this point i see no difference with the current balance.
God forbid that 1k balance team would actually balance the different playstyles against each other. Instead melee gonna have the dick - always.
If GGG slaps a bit more bandaids on armour it may could work on classes that get armour for "free" (hello guardian). Instead of fixing their horrible armour formular.

A successfully influence slammed incursion helm can hit 15%, lightning coil is 30% and taste of hate for 20% scalable by flask effect. That gets you to low 70s... and watcher's eye has 6 possible phys taken as X mods. So 100% should be possible with a pricey eye. 80%+ with a cheap one and 75% not too hard with a basic helm/cheap eye.

Investing in armour only helps with some types of physical damage; specifically on hit physical damage. It does absolutely nothing for damage over time. They've gone out of their way to make armour less relevant as they've added more sources of physical damage over time to the game.
If they want to encourage armour investment, then they should make the mitigation universal like elemental and chaos resists.
True, phys DOT absolutely is a problem. I always thought it was, especially for non trickster evasion builds that usually have less regen as well. I think they might have to do something about it. Nevertheless I for one can understand why they would get rid of all these phys reduction sources.

Get a corrupted blood immunity jewel and/or a staunching flask?
