Well it's definitely not worth it now. That makes the decision easy.

rip like 24-30% pdr from skill tree (dragon hunter/stubborn student/cry wolf/flask); also drive the destruction total max recov gone can't reach 100% dmg immune slayer no more. And blessed rebirth no longer working in pvp zone.

The only ways you can reliably get 90% flat pdr solo in harvest now is Jugg.
Ascendant auras can get pretty close with solid dmg/clear, but it is pretty expensive.

I don't think end cry effect will be able to last the full duration before you can cast the next one, if that is the case, will have to rotate end cry + veteran awareness guarding to achieve perma 90% flat pdr.

The only other safe bet in hc atm looks like Max block quad curse CI vortex occultist with aspect of crab teamed up with aurabot.

Yes exactly. Like with 4 skillpoints players can skill that shitty 3% increased attack speed + 3x 4% life armour and evasion stuff from duellist that nobody skills normally.

I keep seeing "just weave another button into the rotation" or "but warcries". What if I don't want to run another skill? It's a hack n slash. If I wanted to play SC2, I'd just play SC2. I play arpgs to GET AWAY from stressful pvp and apms. That's the appeal of a low skill ceiling genre.

then dont. its only 5% phys reduction, it won't make or break a build.
even if it did, it would only break builds that actually took it...which im really thinking weren't THAT many

Perhaps your vision of what this game should be, and GGG's vision, do not overlap much.

Because it's clear GGG want players to have to actively and manually micro to avoid death, and they want to force players to make hard choices about using a limited resource locked behind a cooldown, under pressure, with incomplete information.

What remains to be seen is, if the people who possess the competencies required to play at this level and still succeed, are also the people who will open their wallets and buy cosmetics and invest real money into storage solutions for all the meeples and chisels and bits each new league generates that don't stack, or don't play well with other chisels and bits.

I'm guessing they've won the hearts of enough people on the gifted end of the bell curve to keep financing the game with its current emphasis on critical decision making and manual dexterity (and multitasking) well into the future.

And that's not easy, because folks who tend to have a natural knack for fast reaction times and good split-second judgment have a lot of competition for their skillset, some of which is pretty lucrative.

That said if you wait long enough, they will paint themselves into a corner by stripping too much away from paying players, or not addressing the elephant in the room: playing HC on a server, no matter how exquisite your multitasking and executive snap decision making and survival reflexes are, you finna catch a lag spike or a packet loss or a thunderstorm one day. And if these "gud" players who are naturally vigilant about covering their own asses, are given NO safeguards against server hiccups or the vagaries of FPS or zone loading, they will simply quit.

Remember always that they are in this to make money, and if their vast and granular analytics were to say today "get rid of scions, they are cheapskates and never buy tabs", then tomorrow's announcement would be "Due to unpopularity, scion has been dropped from the roster and your existing scions have been randomly assigned to one of the other classes based on their ascendancy choices". So even if their decisions don't make sense from YOUR point of view, they ARE following a business plan, even if you aren't privy to it or see how it can possibly make money.
