Since Vulkan was added, DirectX has been awful for me and Vulkan is even worse

I decided to give Vulkan another try but even though I was able to partially eliminate some of the issues I mentioned above, I still can't make the game playable. The same now goes for DX11.

I'm really frustrated.

Yup, initially tried Vulkan and it ctd every time I clicked it without even having a chance to click save. Had to uninstall and reinstall geforce to get the new driver to get Vulkan to actually work. Now neither Vulkan or DX works without massive lag spikes, abilities following me 30 seconds behind, sometimes more. I'll be dying without seeing why because my screen is showing me 2-3 minutes behind in some cases, then my body is bouncing all over the map while it catches up and I never get the option to respawn anywhere.
Ever since the vulcan update, game has been unplayable.. Ive narrowed it down to Frame rate(ms) spikes every 10 seconds. from 10-12 to 1100-1200.. every 10 seconds for about half a sec. Not sure what to do anymore.. Thought it was my pc. I overclocked my card, my cpu, my fans.. Still stutter, I`ve played COD warzone capped out graphic settings and still running 150-160fps. Problem isnt pc.

Using nvidia 1080ti
32gb ram
Completely removed the game and all traces, Reinstalling now. If that doesn't make any difference, I'll just stop trying to play and see how things shape-up over the next few weeks. All being well, I'll be upgrading the PC's over the next few months so...

Edit: I > I'll

So, I removed everything related to the game from Program Files and all the stuff in ```Documents/My Games/Path of Exile```. The registry only seemed to contain some shellbag stuff. I also reset the Radeon control panel settings and the shader-cache. I then reinstalled.

My initial impression is that it's almost back to pre-Vulkan diddling play-ability. The flat-line fps seems to have gone and for the most part serious spikes are no worse than they used to be. We'll see how things go as the shader-cache rebuilds.

Edit:

I may have jumped the gun a little. What I have now is better than yesterday, but it's just worse than I had before the patch.

I'm now thinking about re-installing 1909 and 20.4.2 drivers.

Anyone else with these issues on 2004?

My last update on this. Basically, as of now, I can no longer do Legion encounters or heavy delirium runs without coming to a complete standstill. I could manage both of these and simulacrums before the patch.
This may be a longshot but I want to try and help at least. Are any of you using Yolomouse with dual monitors? Seems there were major issues with this that could cause fps issues. The creator updated it to 1.02 just 4 hours ago. I haven't tried it yet since I am working from home but it states that it fixes the dual/multi monitor issues.

Thanks for the information. I was using Yolomouse but haven't reinstalled in since moving to W10 2004. I only use a single monitor.
Not using anything specific.. simply trying to run the game. Nothing working still as of now. Uninstalling game, deleting folder completely and starting with a fresh install to see if the problem was with my files corrupting with new vulkan patch. Will post update in the next hours to see if issue is resolved.

Game running fine for about 10-15minutes before spikes start. Restarting the game resets the timer for the spikes to start.

Kellog,

I have searched (and searched and searched) for anything that may be of use. I have come up with Nada :(. The ONLY thing that I can think of at this point to try would be to uninstall vid drivers and DX, reboot, clean install vid drivers and DX then delete the shader cache again.

Wish I could help more bud. Other than Vulkan being "blurry/grainy" for me, I really haven't had any issues with a rig almost on par with yours. I am stumped.
