Vacuum Pickup
" Hmm... I'll give you a little insight in why I disagree: I play the game at my own pace. This is why I don't go into groups like, ever. Generally if I group up, I'd trail far behind most other players, because they're like you, gotta go fast and never stop. To me, the journey itself is the destination. You can see evidence of this by the amount of times I reroll to another build before ever getting that far over 90. When I have "proof of concept" for one of my builds, I lose interest rapidly and want to create another successful one. The thrill of trying out new possibilities and trying to make them work drives me. What makes me happier is seeing others play the builds I created and have fun with it, rather than reach 100 or whatever myself. I'm only saying this to explain my thought process in reading your post. We clearly come from very different play styles, but I'm sure there are many out there who play the game like me, just like there are tons who like to go fast and never stop. In short, I see where you're coming from, but it wouldn't personally be something I'd like to see, because it would push me more towards your play style, which I don't enjoy and ultimately, if it bothers me too much, I might quit. I obviously don't want that. :) Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done. Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. Last edited by Xavathos#5130 on May 28, 2020, 4:51:56 PM

the hardest part of making a bot is screen grabbing and analysing for loot to click on it cause screen grabbing can be detected.
if ggg solves this tricky part for the bots, all a bot has to do is running around a instance and portal out, you don't even need to program a bot anymore cause autoIT or autohotkey would be sufficient. -- the second tricky part is: they already have this as a paid feature in the chinese pay to win version. the international version isn't pay to win, so the feature would have to be implemented for free. do you really think the chinese would still pay for a feature that the rest of the world gets for free? with the game owned by the biggest chinese coorp? give it up already, they won't make poe as shit as "other games" age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" You certainly don't know me to say that, because... it's absolutely wrong ;) I'm like you, a lone wolf. I like to take my time, I like to pick up things and explore every corner of the maps at my own pace. I've been playing this league (and the previous ones) most of the time alone. And when I say most of the time, I mean 99.5% of the time. I'm even considering playing exclusively SSF for the next league. The remaining 0.5% of the time (when I zoom zoom) is when I'm 95+ about to reach the next level, and I'm doing some beachhead rotations to reach the next level before playing dangerous content again. In this very specific case, I unplug my brain and push my potato computer to keep following the rotation leader who's always 2 screens ahead of me. |

" Haha, I have no problems at all conceding that point, I do not know you at all, clearly. All I know of you is this post and I'm just going by that. ;) However, saying that, it surprises me that you'd be the one trying to push this auto loot thing. I mean, if you're coming from a "zoom zoom, gotta go fast" player (I have a few friends like that, you know who you are...) I can totally get this and why they want this like yesterday. So then the question becomes... why? If you're like me, as you say, take your time, sort through your stuff and enjoy that kind of thing, even consider going exclusively SSF (I've thought about the very same thing recently, were it not that it makes the building part of my enjoyment rather difficult) why then would you want this sort of thing added to the game? I hear your argument on loot explosions and performance, it's real, my computer is very good, hardware less than a year old across the board and I notice these performance drops on boss kills, it's real, there's no denying it. Somehow I feel like there's gotta be more to this. I'm just trying to understand. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done. Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. I wouldn't want a vacuum that picks up stuff automatically for you. But a vacuum like in D3 that picks up all the SAME ITEMS if you click one of the type would seriously be a great QoL feature and reduce the amount of unneeded clicks
To quote someone from here https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2862380/page/5#p23223894 " This. This would help so much already in reducing needless clicks. If I click one type of a currency item it's absolutely clear I want to pick up all of them after all. |

" Personally I am a "zoom zoom go fast" kind of player (I like making clear-speed builds), but I'm only on that to an extent, I was perfectly fine with manually picking everything up and taking at least a little bit time to look around as I cleared, but then delirium comes out and you practically just have to skip picking anything up until the delirium ends, because even attempting to pick up one thing backtracks and delirium punishes you immensely for backtracking, I mean I'll clear what I think is everything in a small area, and then go for something that dropped and then instantly die because I shifted my focus and a bunch of enemies just spawned, and if I don't immediately die, the delirium will immediately end because I stopped moving forward for half a second. So take this from a clearspeed player, delirium expects you to move too fast. Plenty of people have talked about the problem with deliriums timed content already, and I haven't really seen any response from ggg so far, so I thought I might offer my suggestion if things like delirium kept showing up. Don't get me wrong, I like delirium it's very fun and interesting, but it really does expect you to go too fast. I wish it was like one of the zana maps where killing monsters extends your time, but for the fog. |

" Yes, I know you're right. Look at my amount of challenges, you'll instantly see that the league itself never really got me hooked. The reason for that is exactly what you describe, it wants me to go fast or I die, no matter how defensive I build. I don't enjoy that in POE. This isn't FTL, but it tries to be. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
