China Version of poe is waybetter

Some features I think would make the game worse (pay to win pets, auction house and yes not having an AH is inconvenient but having a game balanced around AH is even more so), but I don't see why we don't have things like:

- a helpful guide to ascendancies as early as Lioneye's Watch
- a message saying what enemy kills you and the mods it has (yes, this exists meaning that we know that there isn't any technical limitation preventing this feature from being implemented)
- being able to plan your passive points.. a feature that was in the 3.0 beta briefly and was removed with no reason as to given why
- passive tree summary

Guys have you even see quest rewards there?

And you can respec as many times as you want until lvl 75...

List of good things is really long!

actually, when it comes to loot pets, it looks like delirium was designed for playing with them.

who's paying the band is choosing the music. and it's not the international version obviously.

thanks to all those fellows who suggested that only boycotting ggg financially would make the game better ... and made.ggg sell their game.

I don't think boycotting poe did any significant damage.

The slump in pc market with the rise in mobile games in relevant markets did most of the stabbing.

Rather than Tencent taking 100% and closing the studio and rehiring a few devs on as mobile game babysitters, Tencent took 80% and the exclusive rights to the franchise as it appears in mainland China. It's not the same game - but maybe that's what TC wants, is for us to hear about the cool, convenient things like auto loot pets and xp penalty golden tickets and assorted other p2w QoL.

They may not want us to hear about other parts of their game they may legally call Path of Exile (because they own the name) but that are distinctly craptacular and designed to make it near impossible to play the game going in with the same expectations you have for even current day PoE.

It may be that all these QoL things come at the cost of inevitable random standing-in-hideout sudden death of the type we joke about, but don't actually believe will happen (by design). Or having so much invasive control and analytics-backed social engineering built into the game that your character chronically wonders why you never get that one shaper frag, or that one zana map, or that last chayula splint you need.

A world where it's not implausible that they really are goosing or cockblocking your personal luck and/or loot tables based on social psychology because they've "correctly" typed you as a person who will just grind harder to get that elusive element or item. Where you may actually HAVE a permanent, arbitrary black cloud looming over you causing excessive deaths, artificial scarcities, and performance issues.

Or maybe it's all the same, except with P2W QoL, and for many, that really is strictly better.

I wouldn't bet on it, though. Chinese players can't all be low-frustration-tolerance crybabies. They live in a milieu of constant surveillance, grew up on legendarily austere Asian grinder MMOs, and are the product of an honour-based culture, which definitely frowns on doing what feels good for its own sake.

imho it all kindof went different when gameloft closed their nz studio and ggg took over most of their mobile developers.

What does the auto pick up pet actually pick up?
Do you set what it can and cannot pick up?

GGG already controls your loot. They use loot seeds as they've admitted in delve. Simply put, alot of the QoL suggestions we've made, they've put in the chinese version but refuse to give us. We're the guinea pigs here.

Ya rly. Say each league you get a shit ton of particular unique X (X changes from league to league), and even chaos-rolling shit has some location-dependent patterns.
