That's definitely an interesting take on the ranged marauder build.
Yours is a bit more of a glass cannon than I personally like to walk around with. Not sure I'd want to go Point Blank on it. So far I'm 1-2 shotting everything with Burning/Poison Arrow. No speed buffs other than using Freny as my left-click. I'd found plenty of regen items and with 5 health pots on the belt, Blood Magic has proven to be fantastic to spam with. I'll be trying the Crit approach. Let me know how yours turns out. I'll be adding it to the main post so everyone can see. | |

This is where my ranged marauder is about up to, similar build with life regen and blood magic/iron grip etc.
Passive skill tree build Mainly using split arrow with life per hit on crowds just because it's fun, considering going for piercing passive and maybe even point blank because I spend a lot of time surrounded and up close, the life steal keeps me alive as long as I keep shooting. I'm too lazy to run around dodging things so point blank could work, dunno yet though. Blood magic limits use of auras a bit though, would be nice if it also added all mana into health too or something instead of just removing it. Maybe would be better without that and mana steal instead? It's working so far anyway. |

Just brought Brutus down on Ruthless with relative ease.
Currently at level 42. Been through a few scares but managed to pull through. I'm considering giving up on using Blood Magic. Reasons for this: - Aura skills are impossible to use like this. - With decent weapon speed, you need TONS of regen in order to not dry yourself of HP while spamming. With a Grove Bow and Frenzy, I've noticed my regen not keeping up with my skill spam. But this brings up another issue: MP. Since this build has nearly no Int nodes, MP is scarce so this means we need a ton of MP per kill/hit. What're your thoughts on this? EDIT: Tried removing Blood Magic. " My marauder with blood magic died on hardcore due to lag rebounding, so I changed him for more damage, one thing I did was remove blood magic, and I absolutely hated it. running auras wasn't even worth it, more damage yes, but really wasn't that great. I took blood magic and power leveled 49 to 55 with ease and cleared an act without trying. He is melee not ranged, but similar principles apply. You say you are worried about draining hp, here's how I don't lose any health. I have golems blood and trolls blood, this allows me to use blood rage and keep frenzy charges up at all times, then I also use warlords mark for more life leech, and my cleave is supported with added fire, added melee, and the important one, faster attacks. I would imagine with high physical damage you should be able to leech just as well if not better than me. Try using blood rage and warlords mark and see how it does. or is there something I am missing about the life leech and bows? what are your main aoe skills and single target skills you are using, and what supports? This is also why i realize I prefer physical damage over magical. Not to mention physical reflect mobs don't even hurt me, I can mow them down like they are nothing. |

Alright, I'll look into Warlord's Mark. Using Blood Rage right now isn't very viable as I don't have enough regen/leech to keep it up. Maybe it'll change with the previously mentioned skill. Damage wise, most of mine is still physical I think. Otherwise, it'd be fire damage, considering my main nuke is Burning Arrow. As for AoE, I only have Rain of Arrows and Lightning Arrow at the moment. It's been enough so far, but I'd really like to try out Split Arrow, which I can't find. My main support gem is Life On Hit. I'm also carrying around Added Cold Damage and Weapon Elemental Damage. WED really makes Burning Arrow hit like a truck. I really need to find other support gems, such as Multiple Projectiles, Life Leech and Reduced Mana Cost. EDIT: Also, I did try to look into getting Golem's Blood, but it's a little too off course. Well, this was disappointing...
Got killed while I was trying out Warlord's Mark. Not sure if I'm willing to keep on levelling the character now that it's no longer in Hardcore League. | |
" Hey sorry man, anytime I try new skills etc I always go some place super easy till i get used to it. My first HC char to die i deleted cause she sucked, even though i still wasn't high enough level to see if I would like it or not. Second one was too fun to just stop and was too close to chaos to not get there to see what happens. |

" Difference in chaos at least for me is my damage was fine, the problem was I risk dying like no other. So in normal places like fellshrine or any group play i want more damage, but in chaos I just want more health. Its a bit different, but i wanted to experience it to see if my build was good there as well. |
