Performance issue define PoE
PoE is not poorly optimized, GGG has just given almost no ceiling to how much attack/speed and pack size you can stack in a single map instance. The excess loot in top tier juiced maps will also cut fps in half or worse.
Any game where you spawn 200 mobs in a single screen and splatter them in a half a single is going to crush your desktop. IGN: Arlianth

" you pretty much described what "poor optimization" means... if game cant run alot of packs without issues then it shouldnt. |

" "It's not as bad as it used to be! Be grateful!" Is not an acceptable excuse, ever. Its a homegrown engine that just sucks. Thats the true gist of it. I dont see any reason to make excuses for them. You can make excuses when they are some upstart indie studio, but that ship sailed a long time ago; just like Riot Games. |

" Im just pointing out that the game runs better than it has ever been. Im grateful that it is and would not still be playing if they didnt make regular performance improvements. Learn what game engines are and how ditching their current one wont improve anything and set them back many years. Upgrading/rewriting parts of their current one makes much more sense. What engine didnt start "homegrown"? |

" Allow me to dissect this and translate it into what you are really trying to say. "This is the worst preforming game I've ever played" - I dont play a lot of games, I own a toaster, and this game requires too much resources for my toaster to run it well. "My system runs every other games without any issues" - My toaster runs games from 20 years ago just fine, but it has a problem with a newer game like POE! "Its un-playable" - I cannot afford a better toaster therefor the game is bad and unplayable! Look, does the game have performance issues? Sure it does. But, I have not noticed any serious issues with performance on my systems' end unless I have a mob pack density so stupidly high the rendering cannot keep up with the mob generation/processing. Which is rare. I think there are some pretty glaring back-end issues seeing as they cant keep the servers stable for any solid period of time, but as far as how much it taxes your machine? Most people dont have issues with this. Now, if you want to see a poorly optimized game, go play Ark, and then tell me this is the worst performing game youve ever played... |

With the amount of microtransactions that is in the game i kinda agree that poe should have had either: no perf issues, d3 -> wolcen grade graphics.
It kinda never did for years so it shows how they spent close to nothing of the cash earned on optimizations. Only lately it appeared that graphic tech guy that is doing some real work and it shows with the more recent particles, ground effects, water etc Gives streamers & friends queue priority and leaves supporters who spent hundreds $ packs in the 100k queue.
GGG: Don't you guys follow streamers? | |
They upgraded the visual for slam skills. Yeah, those skill that has many visual at once.
Clusterfuck..... Crashed 3 times consecutively in sim the day before because of how much shit is on screen and effects. In fact, I have to reduce all setting to low in hope it didn't crash anymore. GTX1070. At this rate, poe2 will be Crash-o'de Crash. Need more frontal assets and backal assets armor!
