" Agreed, GGG needs clarify and provide an official list of endorsed 3rd party add-ons. I only use neversink filter but there are many other add-ons that give players an advantage (i.e. price check, sort, keybind etc). As a result of their unclear terms, players can therefore assume ALL 3rd party add-ons are treated the same -- zero risk usage. Correct? |

Guys, GGG can't be asked to read through the code of literally every single community-made PoE add on to verify them.
They have announced, on many occasions, the criteria for a 3rd party application to be allowed: 1) it does not interfere with the code of the client 2) it does not trigger multiple server-side actions with a single keyboard button press (e.g. flask macros) 3) it does not automatically make any requests to the server based on things happening in-game (this covers botting but also e.g. logging out when your health reaches a certain threshold), only based on button presses made by the user If you do not understand any of these criteria, that's frankly your problem. It's actually quite easy to verify that an overlay is not doing any of these things. Notably, these overlays can all only be used in windowed mode (including windowed full screen, of course) unless you let them modify your operating system, because otherwise, the game would just cover the overlay. tl;dr Stop asking things of GGG that can be solved by being less stupid and/or lazy. |

" They've already put out their official list of GGG endorsed third party applications. It's empty; and for good reason. They can't control a third party application that can change right after they endorse it. Short of them having a dedicated team that is expensive to pore through 3rd party applications, they will never endorse a third party application. What they can do is put out a set of rules for 3rd party applications to adhere to. Users of those applications use them at their own risk, so make sure you trust the developer and/or you're willing to lose your account. Before anyone says they don't know enough about the developers to trust or distrust them, keep in mind that you're asking GGG to do the same thing with an endorsement. And to be clear, I use POE-Overlay for price checking. I've grown tired of manual price checks in a game that moves a million miles per hour. One of the things that died with the speed meta; patience to actually price things. I use it at my own risk and I know that. Thanks for all the fish!
