"20% increased Defences from equipped Shield"

Skill nodes such as this, I only just now noticed... They say "Defences" and I have always subconsciously assumed "Armor" in my head. But, it has come to my attention that this might not actually be the case.
So, is this to say that these kinds of skill nodes actually increase the Armor, ES, and Evasion on shields by 20%? And on that note, is that like... after all of the other modifiers? Such as... If your shield has +68 ES mod and +48% ES mod, for a total ES of 222... Is the 20% going to be applied to the final 222 ES, or is it added to the +48% mod for +68%? It is applied to the total defense, so if the shield has 222, then it will get a bonus 44.4 to it.

I read that as increased defenses on your shield. So if your shield grants you 100 ES, with that keystone it'll get boosted to 120. With that in mind, if you get +100% increased energy shield it'll also be boosted to +120%.

It does increase all three of the base defenses; however, it's added in at the same time all the other "increased" nodes are (so, the second option you mentioned - not "after").
Essentially, if you have a shield with, say, 100 armor and 100 evasion rating, a "20% increased defenses from equipped shield" passive will give you +20 armor and +20 evasion rating. I have wandered through insanity;

Im not really sure about this, but i dont think ES is considered a defense?
It would be informative to know if im wrong about that :), but when u look at the tree there are clearly shield nodes that say +% defense and nodes that state +% energy shield. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

Archon kite shields get 20% more resist all?
