GGG supports RMT

With a popular poe streamer bragging recently on stream about how he RMT's and ggg unsurprisingly doing nothing about it, let's ask some questions:

Why does ggg refuse 100% to even humor the thought of having an auction house?

Why does ggg release a huge balance update to curb power creep in players, yet leave the most broken power creep item completely unchanged and in the game? (Headhunter)

Why does ggg take an almost protective stance with scammers, even punishing victims who post the scammer name? (By the way this is one of the oldest ways to prevent scamming becoming rampant in an online game)

It is because they support rmt. They want the most rmt'd chase item to stay exactly where it is, making money for rmt sites and promoting their game from braindead streamers making HH builds to impress viewers. They do not want players protected from scammers, since alot of scammers are rmt. So no AH.

I would bet money that Tencent is connected to some of these rmt sites in some way. And ggg, if you truly dont support rmt, then remove headhunter from the game. Simple as that. They won't touch that item though since rmt sites and streamers both depend on it, as well as the whales for this game.

I believe you are just blowing smoke from that peculiar weed you are smoking. GGG is ignoring this because a) they have no easy, effective, and cheap way to stop it, and b) GGG is all for anything that gets them more players which in turn translates to more mtx sales. If casual players have a way to get items in order to advance an endgame build more or make a new build that requires an expensive unique to make it work, even if this is officially illegal and condemned, they will and do turn a blind eye to this. Tencent owning 70% of GGG stock has zero to with this.

For example, I'm a filthy casual player and if I wanted to play a new build, let's use ICE NOVA BOLT CoC Assasin as an example, that build says that 2 Cospri's Malice swords are mandatory to make it viable. The odds of my getting even 1 Cospri's Malice to drop while playing is next to zero (let alone get 2 for this build). Ok, just go to PoE.trade and search for 3 link Cospri's Malice and... whoops, it's 3.4 exalts and up cost and I haven't got a single exalt to my name this league (nothing has dropped) so I'm shit outa luck on that build. But wait, there's a link to XYZ rmt site and there a Cospri's Malice is very cheap so I might be tempted to buy 2 there. Thus I could work this new build to 90+ and by playing PoE more GGG hopes I'll see more "gee whiz" bling in towns and get enticed to buy some cosmetics.

I see the same thing being done by Microsoft. Microsoft officially sells Windows 10 for $100 USD or more, but since they want all Windows 7 and 8 users to upgrade to 10 now (Windows 7 normal support ended January 14th) there is still a way to upgrade a fully activated windows 7 to Windows 10 at no cost, even though the free upgrade offer publicly officially ended several years ago. Microsoft knows this but turns a blind eye because they want the world to use their operating system over others and since their business model has shifted, the revenue they get from Windows 10 sales is not worth the time and resources required to try and kill off this free upgrade path. It just isn't worth the bad PR they would get if they tried to stop this. Also, with more Windows 10 users comes the chance to sell more Office 365 or some other MS product.

Same for GGG, if more players are playing PoE, regardless of how they got the gear for the build, then the opportunity to sell more mtx exists, and the casual players that go the rmt route and GGG are happier (a win-win for both). But let's be clear on this, GGG is in no why supporting RMT or has any financial stake in any of these sites.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

Okay, humor me here.

So what if right now I was to post a photoshopped screenshot of you scamming me, and thousands of people saw it, believed it, and slapped you right on their blacklist.

Scam callouts aren't publicly removed to protect scammers, they are removed to protect people from being defamed as revenge by those who may be salty at them for one reason or another.

And yes, you may well have a long video with absolutely uneditable irrefutable evidence that someone attempted a scam, but as soon as they start blurring the lines and allowing "some" callouts and not others, the entire system collapses inwards.

I wish some people could actually engage their brains for 5 minutes and think about the logic behind why this works the way it does.

Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what?

see, most likely a high majority of any accusation of RMT is sadly just a case of "wah wah they have more wealth than me"
Apparently people that have been banned for rmt multiple times are still playing the game and probably rmting. I would think after the second time, people would be instantly banned anytime even if there was a hint that they made a new account.
