A Community Almost Completely Devoid of Sympathy and Empathy

I've noticed that when players of this community complain about a certain aspect of PoE (no, not just me), that other players are inclined to dismiss their thoughts and, moreover, criticize and verbally attack them.

So, for example, someone says, "I hate this change in the game". Then someone responds by saying how they should get over it, or get good, or they might even invalidate their opinion, etc.

So what's my point? I am shedding some light on how toxic this community can be. As much as I am not virtuous enough to respond with kindness to insulting and malicious comments, I am confident that many other players share my proclivity.

Usually, when someone punches you, you hit them back. A fight begins. This phenomenon is rampant within our community (obviously, not exclusively, but that's not a good thing).

However, many of you find it acceptable to assault other players who have gripes with this game, not with you, but with this game. And then, they want to hit you back with a verbal attack, which results in a fight because very few are able to inhibit themselves from retaliating against cruelty. Hatred and anger predominate the tone of too many threads because of these occurrences.

To those who derive some sort of gratification from initially responding to players threads with toxicity, attacks, criticism, condescension: are you aware of what you are doing? Or will you be so brazen as to ignore the facts I've presented and attack me too? And if so, will you have the decency to explain your madness to me?

UPDATE: Someone argued that perhaps people were misinterpreting or misconstruing responses they received to their threads. Now then, I'll provide some evidence to disprove this claim.

People have different tolerance levels. What is assumed to be an attack might not have been posted with such intent.

last I checked you don't have a right not to be criticized in a forum.
if people understood the weight of time that a decade old community has to deal with the same gripes just reworded from someone who did not even bother to see how many times it's been addressed. Including your own concerns you just posted.

What you're describing is moral relativism. What I am arguing is the exact opposite, which is why I use the metaphor of a fist fight. It's not a question of whether or not a punch is a punch when a person's fist impacts your face, is it?

Good day? You're the problem, and you are exactly the sort of person that proves my post's validity.

I would argue that the people coming here to complain are the toxic ones. This isn't the feedback forums, and the people who come here to whine aren't generally looking for reasonable discussion. Most who come here to complain try to spew their own toxic frustrations and insecurities all over the forums and expect people to validate them by saying it's somebody else's fault. This type of post deserves a harsh response.

Those who do talk reasonably about things they like/don't like tend to receive reasonable responses and discussion. I will concede that not every response is reasonable, there are always trolls and haters on the internet, but the majority will be reasonable.

Good day? You're the problem, and you are exactly the sort of person that proves my post's validity.

And you just validated his point, so who is winning exactly?

Also pointing out people have different tolerance levels isn't "moral relativism", it's the exact opposite since it aknowledges the inherent differences between people and how they will cope with situations.
At least be conceptually honest when making a point, cheers.
