question on curse limit and which curses gets applied if more are active

hi

i have 2 curses on blasphemy
- frostbite lvl 22 (+1 from awakened blasphemy and +1 from all cold skill gems)
- enfeeble lvl 21 (+1 from awakened blasphemy)

and one more on witchfire brew
- despair lvl 21

and the limit is 2 curses (occultist - malediction)

when i use the flask what happens? which curse doesn't get applied?

Normally the first curse to be applied would be overwritten. But since both of those are auras, I don't know whether the same rule applies. (I expect this is why you are asking...) The other mechanic I could imagine is if you had to turn off one of the blasphemy aura curses before you could apply the flask curse.

I'm sure someone will weigh in, but it would be really quick to test in your hideout.
test how?

the limitation is on how many curses can be applied to monsters, not how many you have active.

you can have multiple active, but only part of them will be applied depending on limit

I forget what happens, been a while since I've done this. But you test it by going to an area that isn't dangerous, stand next to some monsters, and use the flask. Watch the icons over the monsters' heads to see what applies and what doesn't. Repeat multiple times to get a decent data set.

That's a new one on me. I didn't read the Wiki that way, but the language is not real clear.

In any event, this from the Wiki does seem pretty clear:
"
Curses applied via Blasphemy count towards the active curse limit. Curse auras also take priority over curses applied via casting, and will override those curses if they exceed the curse limit.

I would wager that Despair from Witchfire brew overwrites one of Blesphemy auras for the duration of the flask effect. Pure guess but you can test it quite easily as suggested by Archwizard.
in hideout, if i use witchfire, i see all 3 curses active on me.

at least that's what i think i see :))

You see them active on YOURSELF, but monsters have a curse limit of 1. Players have a higher curse limit than monsters.

Just use 2 Blasphemy curses in HO and use a Writhing Jar to create 2 little worms that you can test your curses on. To me, the question is not applicable to an actual build since there's always the option of annointing Whispers of Doom, so yeah
