Conqurors Of Choice, Reduce Dealth Penalty.
Nerfing summoners won't fix the underlying problems that items just scale piss-poorly for most other builds, your essentally doing lv 80-90 content in lv 60-65 gear, THAT is the problem. Its mainly noticable on builds that rely on weapon damage as their skills damage modifier. We need base items that go to the lv cap of 100 with proper scaled stats. a lv 60-65 armor with 600 armor on it does jack shit for you once your 90, as you need exponentally more armor. the solution? a higher lv base item with 1500 or so armor if its lv 90+ or even higher than that. If you ask me though nerfing enemy damage output could help as things just hit way to hard at higher levels.
The passive system and freedom of building your char is a double edged sword, while its pretty nice the things you can do, its a nightmare to balance correctly. To balance summoners for example they'd have to nerf each minion by over 50% or more. The problem here is, they have to make each minion by itself viable. Its not the individual minion dps itself that makes summoner strong, its the fact you can have so many. I always run multiple summons on my summoner as they all benefit from the same minion bonuses. So Zombies, Spectres, a golem and Summon raging skull, I use them all. The sad thing for most other builds is they have to base around one single skill usually, where as summoner can base around a fairly large group. Also like I mentioned the item scaling this includes gems, ones with flat damage like spell gems or minion gems just scale far better than the ones that do a % of your weapon damage, as weapon damage stagnates around lv 70. leveling the gem helps but at most it gets you 1-2% per gem level. Compared to spell, or minion gems where each level of the gem is a huge jump. Doesn't help either that poe's itemization of the endgame is garbage. Its so boring doing maps knowing they won't drop anything different for the most part than you could find in act 9 or 10, the game needs higher level base items, with properly scaled stats, especially now since from what I read they have made the game harder recently, which has hurt many other builds that became unviable due to just lacking the dps to kill things quick enough. I love PoE, but I hate to say it but, diablo 3 has a far better endgame as its actually itemized properly and it always was. I been spending less and less time in PoE recently as everytime I get to maps I just get bored, and make a new class or just stop playing for a while as there is no draw to keep going when I can't find gear above lv 60-70. |

i agree, remove death penalty but reduce the number of portals into 1

Death penalty doesn't have to be removed, but a reduction to a more reasonable level would be good because currently the only thing that it does is facilitate a boring playstyle if someone wants to level up.

" You should probably go back to D3 if you think that trash system of an itemization is proper endgame scaling. I’m telling you POE has already perfected the formula. And there is a reason why items isn’t “scaling to endgame” like you wanted. It will convert your forum titles into decorative square badges that use the space next to your forum posts more economically so that you can show off an unlimited number of them at any one time. - GGG, 2018 (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3573673)

Gentlemen
Im glad I posted this in two spots a handful of people in the feedback section actually read my post. I feel I have to clarify my opinion on a few things here. In 3.8 if you're doing unmodded t16's and die, your build/gear IS bad, because you CAN run t16's tired, hungry, malnourished, with cancer, half comatose, with no flasks/buffs, because t16 are THAT easy, with shit builds, and bad gear. Im talking full completion as only a few bosses are still hard unmodded ( Core ) I am a gitgud lrn2play kinda guy, Ive never once bitched about Death Penalty because it used to be YOUR mistake, YOUR CHOICE, a bad choice, but yours. And there is always something to learn from dying. I dont feel that way right now, again, you run unmodded t16's and die to anything but cassia, your build / gear is prob pretty bad. Same thing with elder/shaper influence as A: you could see if the map had it, and B: wasnt that dangerous to add. It was YOUR choice to run dangerous content or not. The Conquerors take away the choice, they're too much. Again Ive never bitched about dying and making stupid mistakes or getting cocky, death was always 90% player choice 10% wtf. So I never jumped on the remove death penalty bandwagon, or sympathized with other/my own deaths, I've died hundred of times, never cared, always learned, until now. Because in 3.9 if your running a unmodded t16, you have no idea when or which map will suddenly have influence, not elder/shaper, but actual highly dangerous influence, lot of which you cant kill/avoid its environmental. You cannot avoid and dont know when its coming. So ya, if you're doing a breach, and DOT banners and multiple mines pop up and kill you, and you lose 10% xp if i feel ya. If your chasing an abyss and vipers/asp pop up and blast ya en mass, and you lose 10% xp, I understand your pain, cuz i feel thats BS, we didnt chose to face these things they are complety random. Why have I never cared but now do? It seems they are dangerous regardless of how good your build is or how many years it took to acquire...some of the best gear in the game. GGG want both Conq and Death penalty to stay...ones gotta go. Or get tuned down. |

If you don't like the death experience penalty then don't die. Death is a hint that you are doing something wrong.

" You're missing the point he's making. The choice of difficulty of your map is no longer in your hands. You can run every map white tier but if Al-Hezmin shows up and a group of his vipers all spit on you at once you are dead. You didn't have a choice that he would spawn, you can't prevent his spawning, all you can do is take the death and try again, or complain about the fact they removed your choice. He's choosing to complain, and is completely within his rights and fully justified to do so. |

" That's funny, the same thing happened to me, amd I took it as a message to change things up. I put frost blink in my cwdt set up and now I teleport away when those chaos snakes hit me. |

" And that's ok and also a perfectly justifiable thing to do, like I said he was presented two choices: Take the death and move on, or complain about the developers taking his freedom of choice away in the game. He chose to complain, and is largely correct in his reasoning for complaining. |
