Jeweler's Orbs and Orbs Of Fusing - enough is enough!
" I only buy completly finished already linked items, so the only orb I sometimes can not avoid is the chromatic one. "Yes, it is perfectly fair. It just sucks ass."

" While this is the smart thing to do, it's not very fun. |

rule of thumb , always buy , never craft . unless its like 4l or an item you will use in end game.

" The truth of POE in a nutshell. Advancement in this game has much, much more to do with trading skills than anything else. Onslaught is a walk in the park compared to self-found. I'd be fine if trading were simply "more efficient" than crafting or farming. But when that becomes "thousands of times more efficient" then it's an economic simulator more than anything else. I don't trade. I don't group. My comments reflect that.

" As I alluded to in my first post in this thread, this fact is one of my biggest issues with the game. Around the 50 to 60 level range you hit a wall where you need to upgrade your gear, sockets, links, and affixes. And after putting in the time and effort to acquire the wealth needed for upgrades, you are forced to use the wealth to trade. Attempting to use the wealth to create your own items is almost always fruitless. You end up blowing it all for zero improvement, or worse, end up broke and with items worse than what you started with. Personally, I like making new characters and trying different builds. But you know, when you have to start anew because your attempt to create gear capable of breaking the 50 to 60 level barrier left you broke and with broken items (no longer have the sockets/links you were using), the fun turns into frustration. |

" If you're aiming for 5 or 6 sockets in an item, I agree. But with 3 and 4-socket gear, for me it's typically taken less than a dozen each of Chromatic, Jewelers, and/or Fusings to get what I want. So long as the item's socket-color bias is compatible with my gems - but that's another dysfunctional roadblock that deserves its own topic... |
