is GGG limiting build diversity with monster buffs?

I feel more limited this patch. It's clear they wanted to slow down the progress this patch, to keep player retention. But I wonder if they shot themselves in the foot.

So monster HP is increased, which means you take more damage (unless you can oneshot). So you need good damage, and good damage is usually limited to a few top builds.

This patch we see alot of summoners, cuz the content is hard, and summoners are safe and do decent damage on a budget. Actually same as last league in a way. So even if necros were nerfed people still feel like they need to play it. Not because they actually want to, but because they feel like they NEED to. This all means summons will be completely gutted next patch, cuz GGG fails to see the big picture.

Why is GGG limiting build diversity, one of its strong suites?

On another note: I do enjoy hard content, but I feel like PoE, with its overabundance of visual clutter and poor optimization, can't deliver challenging content, that feels fair.

"Hard" can only exist in story mode. "hard" in end-game maps is a cluster-f that they can't balance. Auto-targeting pets is the only way you can fight that cold guardian boss that sits in its hurricane for a while. Forgot the name of it but it doesn't matter. Don't care anymore. Game is cheesy with one shots and boss mechanics that you can't actually fight.

Imagine spending 50 exalts on a build only to be negated by invuln phases and banners that are placed that make stuff invulnerable. Then there's that boss that sits in his bubble for a while and you're just waiting waiting waiting ........

Fun!

Hydra, Shaper, and Minotaur were good boss fights to throw a build against. It's really a shame that we don't have those staples to play against on a predictable basis.
They aren't at all. People are playing necro because it's completely broken. You get millions of DPS with literally no investment. Just level the gems and get + to spells.

They're making it harder, so if you decide to play something weak, it's gonna be harder to make good. Just because you don't like challenges doesn't mean everything isn't viable.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.
Plenty of builds on poe.ninja. Necromancer and Saboteur are broken but other classes can be broken too with proper investment/skill

that is why the content is overtuned, i doubt many people actually *enjoy* playing summoners. I did one last league and am bored of it now. But im playing ballista instead, cuz i know i would get gibbed otherwise as a ranger on SSF.

Perfect balance is impossible but as it is now: melee is in a worse spot has ever been. Bows, despite this being the huge "bow patch" is just meh.

I can't relate to either of your experiences with the new bosses. The hurricane can be out regened and the bubble around Drox is damage reduction, not damage immunity; he can be downed in his bubble.

With that said, I think your post answers the OP's question. Yes, build diversity has been limited, at least in temp leagues.

The bar has been set to a point where even if most builds could be scaled to do all of the new content it would take the average player more than a few months to do so.

Keep PoE2 Difficult.

basically what the "biggest" brains here and reddit asked for more difficulty.

dev's accepted this and gave them and they buffed stats on monsters and bosses.

by doing this not only limited builds but since people know that they will get 1 shot anyway people keep investing further into damage regardless.. since there's cases where even the most balanced and tank build can still get 1 shot regardless.

the morale of the story is: biggest brain doesnt actually mean smart or smarter than anyone
"Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."

Poe 0.2/10

Returning to poe in 3.27: ATROCIOUS game performance, 5/10 league and I apprently missed the loot back in the last league. The more things change the more they stay the same..
I don't really see why people think every build they ever throw together should be able to insta-KO the final bosses and never die ever on sextant awakened corrupted 8+ modded influenced of some kind maps. Practically any build can make it past Act 10. Practically any build can do white maps. Most builds can probably do yellows. It's only the increasingly expensive, well planned ones that can do red/endgame crap, and you can probably find a build of any skill that someone has successfully completed end game crap with, it'll just be expensive. If that isn't build diversity I have no idea what is I guess

it's more sounding like people want to beat uber elder on a 50c-2ex weapon again and 20c of gear again, and GGG is just saying "no"
Only for those who literally can't play this game if monsters have chance of hitting them.
Speaking about summoners, we've seen WAY more necros (and other ascendencies used for summoner) in the Blight than in this league.

the problem is limited life in this game, i think is not normal than warrior class limited to 5k - 8k life and its harder to reach it , and even with more thanw 8k life you can get dead easy -_- , so how with average life 5 to 7k life you can win this end game , so if you invest on life and defesne like juggernaut in logique you have less damage and less clear speed and more time for kill boss -_-.
