Planning a new PC for a post Windows 7 world.
" My cpu is almost never above 50% utilization but my gpu is 98-100 at t16 with all that sextant, propechies, 40 pack size stacked on top. I don't see how it would be bottlenecked by my CPU if poe cant even utilize it and my GPU is on maximum fan. There are calculations being done but there are also vastly more visual effects going on. " Yeah, I'm sure it's rough on the GPU when it gets crazy. When I tried the game for the first time though it was on an old laptop with a really trash GPU, it wasn't too hard on it though. But the CPU stayed at a consistent 100% at all times. I switched off dynamic resolution which massively buffed the graphics and the CPU dropped to around 70% and the GPU still wasn't struggling. As soon as I tried shooting an enemy it became a shitshow though. It was Caustic Arrow, and it was fine with the enemies and poison pool on the ground, the actual hitting things was shredding the CPU though. Every time I opened a lockbox I had to lay a bunch of poison pools and pop Molten Shell or I'd completely lock up as soon as I tried attacking the pack. Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

It really doesn't matter what you get, anything from the last 3 years or so is more than enough for any game on the market now or any time in the not so near future.
The performance in this game seems to be hit & miss from patch to patch, even with a 5k PC. |

" I decided the same after some more research. If I'm looking at a rig that will handle beyond 4.0 I should go the 3700x, 5700xt, x570 mobo route. |

Since you're building a new gaming rig get a motherboard that has an m.2 2280 interface and then buy the 512 GB HP EX950 m.2 2280 NVMe SSD (NewEgg). They are super fast. If you need more space then as an alternate to the 1 TB HP EX950 (too expensive in my opinion) get a TeamGroup MP34 1TB NVMe SSD. I was gifted the 1 TB TeamGroup MP34 for my birthday a few weeks back and cloned my old Samsung 840 500 GB drive over to it. I still use Windows 7 Pro and was able to find the NVMe driver on a 3rd party website as Microsoft has pulled it off their site (to push you to upgrade to Win 10). NVMe is 5 to 6 times faster than SATA SSD and the few bucks more they cost (at least for the TeamGroup MP34) is well worth it. Not quite as fast as the HP EX 950 NVMe SSD but a lot cheaper and a lot faster than SATA SSD.

Yea 5700xt is good 2k gaming and future proof but amd card runs hotter and more power comsumption u'll need beter cooling brand, u can check 5700xt benchmark at youtube hardware unboxed channel every benchmark about 5700xt. I recommend msi gaming x if u looking for twinfan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCZ5vOiVKj4&t=7s This is the newest 5700xt but i dun recommend this liquid version, just skip to 7minit for those benchmark score xD

OP, That's not a bad start...
But since you're spending money consider an M.2 SSD like the Samsung ones. Also make sure your power supply for that wattage is what's called "80 Plus, Gold Certified". This is basically how energy efficient it is under load but also an indicator of a quality product as they were willing to submit it for an extreme scrutiny review by the 80 Plus people, it's a sign of quality (Go fully Modular too, cleaner cables, better airflow). I'd swap that Crucial Ram for a Corsair brand. As Corsair is the top line brand name and G.skill is the everything else name usually. |

I have ryzen 2600x, 16gb 3200 cl16 ram and Sapphire 5700xt pulse.
Now I play CoC Volatile dead which is the most graphicly intense build I have ever played. in t15/16 sextanted maps - 1080p - everything maxed except number of lights, Shadows+Gl quality - max fps locked at 120 - avg fps 97 ( only map action ) - min fps 39 - avg frame time 11,9ms - gpu temp 68°C max / avg 1100fan rpm / 132watt avg - 168watt peak ...gpu load under 70% so its not the gpu that limits me or make the low fps I guess. Its not bad and you wont be limited by build/graphics with this pc. The only problem I had were black screens/crashes with 2 monitors or VR headset connected. Pretty annoying bug caused by newest drivers. |
