[0.10.3] Elemental Staff Shadow

Just wondering, have you tried flicker strike and bloodrage to see if you can get infinite or near infinite flicker? With a nice staff and all that crit, I can imagine a lot of 1-shots with flickerstrike to refresh Frenzy charges off bloodrage.

Groundslam is a safer alternative to sweep imo, I just dont like the skill personally.

Note: It has been said that if you are going to use a staff you might as well be using a mace, which I suppose could be true, its just that the shadow looks like a total bad ass holding a stick.


You missed the biggest point of building a staffer: block with a 2 handed weapon...and its no spiffy block to laugh at.
The best staff has 18% block chance already on it.
Add to that a few keystones you can get up to around 40-50% staff block depending on how much you invest in it. They are good keystones to get anyway. Look around the Templar region. Its the dmg nodes you'd want to have regardless.

Having the power to do hard hits (= stuns) plus blocking is IMBA.

Staff is not the highest DPS of weapons (axes are) but this is an issue of survivability. If you arent using axes, you are already going for something thats more survivable. Mace is relative to staff by a few points, and all it brings to the fight is 20% (or I think 40% on one type of 2h mace) to stun threshold.

BTW I dont think shadow looks cool with a staff.
I'm building mine as a duelist or templar. Have a few rolled up to test it through normal, see which I like better.
Your build also wasted a good deal of points on trivial stuff - like that evasion + energy shield stuff. Whats the point? You shouldnt have a single point of ES on this build anyway.

Or you should go CI+unwavering and no HP nodes, but thats not what you did...
