+1. Both of these threads are stupid. The first should've died out within a page or two, and then likely this one would never have been made. So how about we switch the topic from Charan himself to the fact that both of the threads about him are still up? Yet another example of the mods' hypocrisy.

Then again, maybe not. From what I can tell, their real policy is to get rid of anything that threatens to become a shit storm. Religion and politics fit that bill. But so do scam reports, because if allowed at all they'll tend to proliferate and eventually also feature false accusations. So they go too. But the Charan thread is fine, because so far it's proved self-limiting - people are just using it to discuss this one player rather than it spiraling out of control (so far...). So it stays up, morality and policy consistency be damned. Basically, they're not really out to protect anyone but the company itself.

Why people are so affected on if the topic is closed or not? You get less money for each topic created? You care for the forum to be clean? Dont read these topics and thats it?

The question wasn't stupid. But it's been answered now. The fact that this thread is still going and has devolved into a 'shit-on-Charan' fest is stupid. The other thread is already full of that, and now we have a second one. It serves no good purpose. I'm not saying either thread shouldn't have been made - the first announced a significant community change, the second was a query for information - but that they should have both died out once their initial purpose was served. Neither thread should have been more than 1-2 pages long.

Easy to paint someone a villain after they've exited.

My recollection of events over the years since closed beta is pretty straightforward. The guy is outspoken against power creep and speed meta. Takes a pretty firm stance that not only 'optimal' gameplay should influence balance decisions, and wants opinions from non-meta players to be considered valid. After all, 99% of the playerbase can't keep up with the meta.

Wields the power of coherent argument, really not something most people on internet forums can cope with. Comes across as "pompous" and "faggy" to the mainstream, if I can borrow a line from Idiocracy (don't take it personally, it's not a cut on you)

So in speaking out against a particular kind of elitism on too-regular of a basis, and then business practices he didn't agree with, he began to look like the one who was elitist. Something at the end that I don't know about lead to this result. Something something Tencent probably fits in there somewhere.

He's just a regular guy who needed a break.
