Who is Charan and why he left?

" This forum is the freest forum I've ever seen. I'm guessing Charan's posts were deleted at his request. |

Charan was a forum celebrity of sorts. One of the earliest supporters of the game, easily the most financially invested single supporter of it during its early days, and one of its most vocal and visible such Big Supporters. He was Kind Of A Big Deal. People who'd hung around the forums for any real length of time knew who he was.
He was a (mostly) intelligent and well-educated sort. When he wasn't mad, his posts reflected this. When Grinding Gear was a small company that cared about people, Charan was a surprisingly hefty influence by the standards of player-supporters. He was, however, prone to dramatics. I can understand, I'm prone to dramatics myself. He was increasingly frustrated with the evolving state of the current Path of Exile; he hated what the game has become and is still becoming, it wasn't what he'd poured thousands of dollars into anymore. The playerbase increasingly becoming a sludgy sea of incompetent, incontinent dicktrolls with no idea how to think for themselves (or at all, really), as is the case with any game that outgrows its original niche supporter audience and reaches mainstream appeal, also frustrated him immensely. The fact that his entire account history is gone is sad, but also very typical of the man. Charan never did anything quietly, and when he was pissed off with you he made absolutely sure you knew it. He and I frequently butted heads back when Off-Topic was a board worth posting in, but I'm still sad to see him go. She/Her

Thank you sir, now i see the picture
But if PoE is becoming more of a “not what he expected “, yet it’s becoming quite popular, #1 ARPG out there - could just it be his subjective vision of what is right, he admitted that PoE is going the right way with deleting his whole history here? I tried once again D3/ GrimDawn - not as close as what is POE |

" You're allowed to be elitist. Though, it would look a little better if you had any achievements to back it up. Everyone can play hardcore. But clearly, not everyone achieves things in hardcore. See you on the flip side :) Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" All I can say about this is that he enjoys letting people speculate about why he left and that it wasn't his intention to have all traces of him erase. He's still playing and lurking in the forums though, he just refrains from commenting. I kinda get the feeling that it isn't all that easy for him to do so sometimes. But only very rarely. I really miss his presence here. It was always lively with him around and there were actually some meaningful discussions sometimes. I make dumb builds, therefore I am.

Masterpiece of 3.16 lore "A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks Last edited by gandhar0#5532 on Dec 13, 2019, 3:13:40 AM

He's also known for being a fairly toxic individual on the forum.

" So he left because of me? Wow, I did not mean to piss him off so badly... |

Have omitted most of the PM (Seeing as the main topic of the PM itself was how rude it was for a "Certain Individual" to keep posting them publicly), But I feel like this one line is innocuous enough to share.
![]() His actual posts being wiped was a misunderstanding, but it achieved the same goal so he didn't bother arguing the fact. Souls along a conduit of blood, from one vessel to the next.
