If you played in the 0.X / 1.X days you would know that the game was quite famous for being extremely slow to load. It was only with the release of patch 2.0 that they cleaned up their file structure and got the game to load in a reasonable amount of time.
If it was not aimed at me then carry on, hard to tell without a quote to tell who you were talking about.

ad 1: HDD is good enough - well I can imagine only a person who have never used an ssd can say that, or someone who doesnt care about the overall quality of his/her pc
ad 2: NVMe M.2 is faster than an SSD - well this is kinda mixed statement. M.2 is in fact an SSD. What this statement was meant to say is M.2 SSD is faster than SATA SSD. which is true. Average sata ssd is 500 mb/s, M.2 (depending on quality and technology) is easly up to 3500 mb/s. My raid 0 is reaching almost 3700 mb/s
ad 3: You won't notice any difference going from M.2 to an SSD - that is simply not true. Although the difference will be smaller than the difference between hdd vs sata ssd
Overall it is good investment because games are getting bigger and bigger and while now difference is small it will grow bigger in the future. And remember that loading times are not as important as actual data streaming from your drive (while already playing) and this is the part that might be crucial in the future.

Yes, now I see I should have clarified I was talking sata ssd vs m.2 NVMe.
EDIT: I didnt since getting M.2 ssd thats gonna work just like 2.5" one is lol (unless very specific case). Most ppl by default getting m.2 ssd understand as its gonna be pci-e

My work computer had a really fast SSD, but backups and transferring files took 20-30 minutes.
had the boss buy me an NVME drive, and holy crap it does the same thing in 3 minutes.
For huge file transfers it's insane. For gaming.... there's virtually no difference.

I play since 2012. I still dont have SSD. I guess waiting 5 sec instead 1 sec doesnt rly change anything to me.
(I could have 10 SSD for amount of money I spent on this game)

For your own sanity's sake, at least get an SSD for Windows lol.
The impact is highly noticeable.
Is it NEEDED for this game? No, but it does help.

If the day-to-fay difference between an SSD and an HDD was only 5 seconds, I wouldn't have scrapped all my HDD's several years ago. Sadly/gladly, the difference is WAY bigger than "5 seconds", even when talking about PoE.

Just tried today my new pc (which has Samsung 970 EVO Plus)
and holy crap, went from 10-15 minutes load times from old HDD, to about 3 seconds load time.
Now, old HDD and the computer in general was 9 years old, and the OS was windows vista, but damn, never would I though 3 seconds load time was possible...
