- nerf scourge arrow

- leave underused bow skills like blast rain, split arrow or shrapnel shot in the gutter still because nobody cares
Great job balancing, guys. The past two leagues have seen less build variation than ever. Keep up the "archetype" trend and ridiculously heavy-handed nerfs so soon we can all play the same class!
(2-3-2019) Buff underused skills (3.23?!)+ selfcast, stop nerfing defense, build in threshold jewels (3.23?!), implement D3-style looting, add death log + MTX preview, actually rework flasks, stop balancing around the .01%, unnerf Harvest, ADD NEW WAYS TO LEVEL, finally implement Loot 2.0

WHY DON'T YOU GIVE THE STATISTICS OF PLAYERS WHO DID 40 CHALLENGES? I'm not doing it just to look at the 36 challenges statistic and leave

Everyone I knew from 2 years ago are gone. It's the same story for each of them, my builds are destroyed, fuck PoE.

The hallmark of communism reigns in PoE. Work hard for rewards that are taken away. Once you kill or take away people's rewards for all their time and effort, a system or (in this case a game) fails.

Challenges are too long and boring to grind. Its just an artificial way to get players to play longer than needed.

The only 'nerf' that Scourge Arrow needs is a lengthening of the channel time, so that using it does represent a real risk (from standing still) for all that power. But SA is hardly the dumbest bow skill - that honor belonged to Tornado Shot before Scourge Arrow, and still belongs to it after SA was added. No other skill in the game is as dumb as Tornado Shot, where everything you do to improve your clearspeed also improves your single target and vice versa. If they're going to nerf a bow skill in 3.9, it had better hit Tornado Shot more than anything else.

If their numbers are down, it's got nothing to do with nerfing too much. The Necro isn't dominant this league cos all the other classes and ascendancies are incapable, but because one was buffed out the wazoo. Powercreep typifies the game today much more than any nerfs they've handed out. And no, dropping off from the meta is not a nerf - that can happen from other skills being buffed as well, or just new skills being added that're OP to start with.

Melee's disadvantages are fundamental, simply by virtue of having to get up close to kill (true melee I mean, not the embarrassment that is skills like Tectonic Slam). I honestly don't think there's any way GGG can make playing melee attractive without significantly nerfing ranged play. Other games do it by making melee builds either a lot tankier and/or higher damage than builds that attack from range i.e. those ranged builds are squishier or do less damage, but in PoE the game hasn't developed that way and people now will cry out now if they changed that.

But one change I think they can push through that I'd like to see is a significant reduction to the max projectile distance. Say, to 1 and a quarter screens. For all projectiles - arrows, wands shots and spells. Offscreening is really stupid and not something too many other games have. I think they could get away with that at least because 1) it doesn't nerf power, just increases the danger, and 2) it should be applied across the board, meaning monster projectiles will also be affected, which should hopefully mollify the hate brigade since there'll be fewer bullshit deaths now.
