New league suggestion. (Pirate league)
Think about this. New league starts and us, exiles are taken onto a ship or pirate ship which we command and sail the open waters. Now in terms of features you could randomly generate islands that we go to and have a timer to discover the lost loot, kill the locals that protect artifacts or some times get a boss island that you have to fight waves of enemies until you face the boss.
With the ships you could upgrade it with items you find on the islands that allow you to sail further out into the open ocean for more rare undiscovered lands, another which could increase your timer for scavenging loot on an island or even increase your quant/rarity. On that note too you can have random pirates board your ship to steal your artifacts, making you having to defeat them wave by wave until it's done with rewards of -information- of which pirate leader sent them and allowing you to go to their island and kill them for good rewards. So Fairgraves has some unknown cousin we meet at the Coast in Act 1?
What about Areas with no access to the Ocean though? No League mechanic there? Or does he have a Gyrocopter on his ship he can use to bring us back and forth?^^ Or is he capable of opening portals and only uses his ship for fun?^^ The general idea with randomized Islands to go to and search for loot sounds like fun. Also having Some Pirate Lords with special loot as Bosses and a giant Kraken as the "endboss" sounds nice. Just don't know, how fitting it could be implemented. On top: We would clearly need "Dublons" like "Perandus Coins" we can find from treasure on the islands. And "Fairgaves Cousin" will sell us "Treasure Hunt Maps" for Dublons. We have new discoveries on the Map Charter. " then clicking it transports you to your ship docked outside. OR you could have a monkey/parot somehow carrying a message in a bottle from your crew that when you click also transports you to the deck of your ship. Once on your ship you click on your Map Charter and set sail to a location that can be highlighted and chosen similar to delve or synthesis, with higher tier islands with more loot and dangerous enemies of course. Similar to delve with sulphite you could collect barrels of rum or crates of food for your sailors so that you could sail out longer and further to reach harder islands. Big boss fights could include the following, The Kraken (onboard ship fight) Davy Jones (onboard ship fight), Blackbeard (island fight), A huge Crab boss (island fight) and possibly. . -A huge Monkey- (island fight, possibly rare unique boss) This boss hoards lots of fallen ship treasure that's been washed up and you have to fight through waves of monkeys with golden plates and bowls for armor as a sense of humour and the -Monkey boss- wearing similar outfits with ruby jewels for eyes to give it that more boss feel. During the waves you have a timer and the longer you take the more treasure the boss either hides or destroys. " We have another Pirate avenue with Lilly and Weylam Roth and their Pirate ship that can clearly go on land shown in the end of act 9. SO a mode of Spontaneous transportation can be covered. As for content, where has Weylam been all this time? And of course, Fairgraves would have some interesting content, possible dead pirates with origins from a setting like the Carribean. |

" Yeah I know, but introducing them in Act 1 for the League-mechanic would seem a bit off for the rest of the story. A League clearly needs a new NPC to introduce the mechanic. |
