[3.10] Gryph's Volatile Dead Necromancer || Fun, Medium Budget, Tanky, Millions of DPS

thanks a lot for the info

here I have some question about the build:
1. for the 3 offering version, how to deal with the corpses consumed? every time CWDT, the Desecrate + Spell Cascade only create 10 corpses, but 3 offerings + VD need 18 corpses in total.
2. I found that I can't gain ES from VD by the Heart of Flame (fire damage leeched as ES), is this normal?
killed 32 watchstone awakener with this build today. only 1 rip.
really insane damage and survivability :)
Hey thanks for the guide, really having fun playing the build. I managed to alt craft the following staff, but is it worth to multimod it? I'm not quite sure how cast speed affects the build since the cast speed is still based on CwC. Any advice?

Much appreciated!

Does anyone else run into incredible consistency issues on damage? This build took me well into red maps. But once I started fighting the 4 watch stone conquerors, things got dicey. And that was with a 6 link on Martyr of Innocence.

It's incredibly frustrating because sometimes it's like a brick wall of death. And other times it's like my volatiles are a gentle wave washing the enemies feet. Unfortunately, when this happens it becomes very hard to outlast the enemies due to screen clutter + FPS making it hard to properly dodge.

This could just be messing up, completely possible. I try to watch out for elemental equilibrium and +ele res rolls. There is chatter on Reddit about VD being bugged. Sometimes your old VD balls do not go away if you are too far and that seems to be impacting the cap. It could definitely explain a lot.

You are probably doing something wrong. If I could see your build, maybe I could tell.

I claered t16 map easily with a CwC 5L staff and it was a breeze. I don't think the bug on reddit affect us, I never have more than maximum 20 volatile dead alive. If you have problem against boss, remove Herald of ash and use anger. Anger gives more single target damage but less clear speed but I don't think we lack clear speed in this build. Considering current boss meta, Herald of ash is bad because there's no monster at all to explode on the boss. It's still good for metamorph.

Which better?

1)

2)

1 -> base damage Tooltip says VD 53.155 dps (but obv. i have 1 extra frenzy charge playing -> 4% more damage and 4% attack speed & cast speed)

2 -> base damage Tooltip says VD 58.097 dps and this one has better stats.

Thx.

Totally possible (probable even) it's on my end. But I've looked over everything multiple times and just can't place why it feels so inconsistent. Appreciate the offer, but think I'm going to step away from it for a moment. It performed fantastically through ~85% of the content and allowed me to farm up some solid currency. Going to come back with some fresh eyes once I get a chance to work on some crafting.
Having some really bad experience in t14+ maps. Damage is starting to fall off real hard and I just randomly explode vs meta bosses. Anything look off at all or anything I should look to upgrade first.

First, get Hypothermia over combustion support for Volatile dead.
Second, remove the belt and get a good rare belt. If your body armour doesn't have +25% offering effect, you will be hitting yourself more than you are regenerating ES.

Always get life over ES. More life = more regen from spirit offering
Try Anger instead of Herald of ash for more single target DPS.

Try to find a elder staff wih CwC, 5L and spell damage. Depending of stats, it will be better than 6L Martyr of Innocence.
