ilevel , sockets, unique, how does it work ?

I agree, it shouldnt be a "hidden" stat at all.

Long Staff in wiki claims to be a lvl 13 item. Below is mine which has an iLevel of 42. Forget where I found it but most likely Merci Merviel which would account for the higher iLevel.

It claims to REQUIRE level 13.

This means you can only use it if YOU are are level 13 or HIGHER.

It means that with the current mods it has an equip level of 13 currently. Its ILevel is higher so that would determine the number of sockets it could possibly have.

Exactly! What's your question then?

Because it's a Searing Touch it requires level 13, all searing touches require level 13. Because it has a high item-level it can have a high number of sockets.
