ilevel , sockets, unique, how does it work ?
" wtf man read what i wrote, i said i understood that and concluded it was counter intuitive, missleading and pretty much uncesserary as nobody would equip an item with 6 base armor even if it has ilvl 77 mods (+300% armor woohoo) and it favorise a scam fest when it comes to trading since the same item with the same name (including uniques) could have different ilvl so very different values ( mainly for sockets, sometime for rolling a new mod). There's basically no easy way to approximatively deduce the average ilvl of an item like in any other game of that kind which is a major flaw. Don't suddenly act like it's normal and okay when it's such an obvious flaw. It's undoublty confusing when you compare it to other game systems (like diablo for exemple) please stop trying to explain to me the difference between required level and item level , i already knew that waaay before playing poe to summerize it here's why i made this post : i have a searing touch staff and after like 8 stacks of jewlewer's orbs i couldn't get 5 or 6 slots, i had checked its item level before and it returned me "28" i thought it was very weird because i had checked before and saw many 5 slots searing touch so i kept trying to get these slots despite that. Now thanks to this post and a confirmation of a player in game who had a searing touch with 5 slots and told me it was ilvl58 or something i know the same unique can have very different value. If you're still going to act like it's obvious, not counter intuitive, not a flaw and okay then i guess i'll definitly assume something must be wrong with me and my 26 years of gaming experience. is there at least any way to check the item level without grabbing it or we're just supposed to trust whoever is trading it ? |

Hold alt on the trade window to see ilvl of the item.

" first of all thank you very much for info, then i'd like to sigh heavly. They really need to make this more accessible, pressing a special key for trade windows, grabbing the item and typing a command when you have it and no way to check it when it's on the ground, linked or even sold by a merchant is totally inconsistent. |

WIki is your friend:
http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Socket#Sockets The item level required for a number of sockets is: item level 1 - max. 2 sockets (except the starting weapons) item level 15 - max. 3 sockets item level 28 - max. 4 sockets item level 35 - max. 5 sockets item level 50 - max. 6 sockets |

Yeah they really really need to change ilevel to basic stat that is displayed on the items stat card as it's one of the most important stats any item has and there being now way what so ever to see it while looking at forum/chat linked items is just retarded desing.

Hey there,
Please do not derail the thread with off-topic comments or hostile arguments. This clutters up the thread and makes it less viable for people to find and receive the help that they may need. Please keep this in mind when posting in future. Thanks! | |
itemlevel should be displayed on the item in the trading screen.
HAIL SATAN!
