Someone has to, HAS TO, design a unique item with somewhat of a reference to something from Diablo II. Heck many if not most of Path of Exiles great game design choices or choices to be implemented are done because D2 has already set an example for them.
Even if it's a subtle (a unique that mentions an obscure Diablo II character/monster's name in its description) or jokingly (Occulus ring anyone?) reference, it'd be great. [Hardcore league]

The ring of Obzod. Grip of Onan. (gloves of course) Dreamflange (helm, of course) Ring of Broken Engagement (gives you massive resist against cold...feet) GGGPOtW And my favourite: The Triple A Staff (causes Detonate Dead to target all corpses on the screen, but increases its cost by roughly 500%.) If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

FYI Chris confirmed in chat that Diamond Supporters can make "Troll" items as in items with - stats. I propose a nice Diamond supported make a "Supeg ring of Trolling" -100 to all attribs. Make it look like every other ring so that when someone gets that unique ring and indentifies it trololololololol

If I had the chance I'd make a circlet that had dex stats so rangers could see their hair.

I would suggest/make a gem which has the ability to summon all your minions to you and restore their health.
