" All ggg would do is nerf the Legion reward even further after it go core and leave that broken hh as is. GGG never care about balance, and they always let those 0.1% ruin the economy. Problem is you can hardly fix it because people will rage no matter what you are doing this late in the league.
THis mechanic wont change much in this league anymore. But I guess it will be changed later on the game if legion goes into some kind of core or legacy league. |

I think people are focusing on the wrong issue.
While the headhunter is crazy OP, the real culprit here is the Legion battle reward mechanics. Currently, spending your emblems to open a 5 way battle without a build able to get 3+ lines of rewards (like one with a HH) results in a net loss. Most people will make more currency selling off their emblem than they would for using them. The league should encourage/reward the average player to use their emblems to run the new league content, not penalize them. A simple fix would be to remove the whole timed part of the encounter and give everyone X monolith refreshes total. This way players could clear it at w/e speed they are comfortable with. The "bar" payouts would be more or less equal for everyone, but those running a HH would still have an advantage since they'd be clearing more "5 armies" per hour than those w/o one. IMO, anything that costs currency to do/run (maps, etc.) should give the same base payout to everyone able to complete it. Player A might do it in 30s, while Player B takes 10 minutes, but all things being equal (same map, same mods, same MF, etc.) both players should get on average the same reward. You know it's not HH...
It's HH plus 3 inspired learnings. You guys need to know what you're even being jealous, I mean complaining about. HH is FINE> It should be MORE accessible, and so should inspired learning jewels. Let the people play FUN things, even expensive things, but don't make the drop so bad it's 140ex. that's just insulting to the player base. Create MORE things like HH, and make them all sit in that 20-30ex range, with MORE synergies. Another GREAT item like this is Eternity Shroud. It causes you to chase and grind more and more to support the new cool stuff you can do to advance your charater. It causes you to think of new cool builds you want to do so you can keep playing more and more. if there were 3 other HH type items, and 3 other IL type jewels, then there would be some variety that would be fun for ANYONE who played long enough in league. 20-30ex isn't that bad... I mean I don't try hard and I can get that much in the first 3-4 weeks of league. So in short: HH isn't even a problem. If you ran JUST HH (which my friend is doing), it DOESN'T WORK TO CLEAR 5 WAYS. It ONLY works like that with 3 IL's. Normal HH is actually a little boring you guys, trust me. I had one last league. I bought the cards and saved up and deferred pleasure off, didn't build my char much, sold things to other people, and finally bought a HH. THEN I built up after that. and while it was cool, and very neat, it wasn't MASSIVELY OP OMG. Your cyclone one shot phasing shaper and finally allowing you to do uber elder this league is actually way more OP and fun. ED wiping out all of the non-rare legion mobs is super OP. There's a lot of OP stuff to complain about. Here's the real problem: WE NEED MORE SPLINTERS. This drop rate is horrible and whomever at GGG still thinks it's okay is an idiot. I've been playing since day 1 this league and I've ran MAYBE six of my own sets. 2 five ways, 1 4 way, and 3 2 ways. You seriously planned for us playing 8-10 hours a day and getting like ONE emblem fight a week? That's freaking dumb. We should be doing this damn things every single day, twice a day. Your game design paranoias and anxieties about markets and what players will do to them if you give them more access to the FUN (talking to you GGG) is straight up stupid. You care more about markets than the players who have to endure your horrible decisions to limit us. It smells everywhere. You limit our develing, our alvas, our beast smashing, our syndicate farming and unveiling, and pure breaches, and now of course legions. It's lame you guys. Your design decisions suck. I'm not advocating for INFINITE ALL DAY ACCESS. but if I'm playing 8-10 hours a day I should be able to run 2-3 of whatever the hell I want of each. |
