Revert back the pledge of hands change, you ruined it GGG
Isn't it now wonderful for bladevortex? Never used it but casting 4 times without option to abort doesn't seem to be really a problem for this skill and the extra AoE should come in handy. I never did a BV build but I would assume it is a huge bonus for it.

" Change was retro meaning no legacy variant.. Its actually a tremendous buff from Frostbolt+Ice Nova setups making it damn near BIS weapon for that build. Otherwise yes unless you invest completely all in on insane amounts of Cast Speed its gonna feel pretty bad being locked down for all those casts especially with Spell Echo. Minion Builds can also make really solid use of this new version as well. Otherwise most casters are gonna be better off with a crafted shaper staff now. At the very least use Greater Spell Echo as a replacement for Spell Echo and run another more support in its place. Again you never would want to run both together unless its Ice Nova+Frostbolt. Thats what makes it so powerful when cast off of Frostbolt you get the multi-casts with only a single cast animation. There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation. I use pledge on my ice nova inquisitor i made for this league. Is working great for me. What am i missing? Why the nerd rage here? |

" Because the change to it pretty much made it BIS for Ice Nova cast from Frostbolt because of the single animation for multi-casts. Everything else has you locked down for all those casts. To see what i mean try casting your Ice Nova without Frostbolt.. thats how it feels on everything else. It is insane on Ice Nova+Frostbolt though no doubt about that. Most people are also trying to use Spell Echo with it on other spells and thus that huge lock down that results in it feeling bad when they could otherwise treat it as a replacement for Spell Echo and run something else in its place and get more Cast Speed and then its actually really good still. Its pretty much the old complaints about Multistrike all over again except around this item.. and we all know how Multistrike ended up... But learning to work with things as they are has never been this communities strong point. Its always about change things because i cant figure out how to overcome issues myself.. There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation.

Welp I've tested it and yeah, my pledge of hands arc build is RIP. It's not useful as a 7link anymore. Elementalist was already squishy as it lacked the inherent defenses of occultist.
Now that we've lost our ability to spread debuffs I can't chill packs, can't spread shocks, etc. I get full speed packs rushing me down and arc's jumps become inconsistent with the reduced chain length and now, my pledge of hands is locking me into a triple cast that lasts way too long to be viable. You can clear trash but if you fight a boss casting locks you down for so long you get squished. Is this an intentional nerf? Cause Pledge of hands wasn't amazing to begin with. |

" What has reduced chains anything to do with Pledge of Hands? Also why don't you use Spell Echo? The more cast speed overcompensate for the additional recast. At level 20 you get 70% more castspeed. For 3 cast you need 3«timeunit» where timeunit is the time you need for one cast without spell echo. For 4 casts with 70% more castspeed (Spell Echo level 20) you need 4/1.7 ~ 2.35«timeunit». Which means you have 3/2.35 ~ 1.28 of the speed before, or ~28 more. That doesn't even include the huge damage buff but also increases your mobility as you are spending less time in a locked state.
