Game keeps crashing, no error, just kicks me to desktop

Please fix the constant crashes...
Delorre, glad to see it helped, let me know if it keeps working out and if so i'll probably post elsewhere aswell
Also crashing however I crash due to alt tabbing back into the game which is essential to the game seeing as the auction house is run on a third party website. I have probably crashed around 50-60 times getting 2 characters to around level 60. Good to see zero staff responses on this thread as well. good stuff guys

Hey guys, I had this problem as well but managed to fix it, now I only crash once every 8-9 hours and that's while using multi-strike flicker.

For me it was Nvidia related which may not help anyone under a different card manufacturer.

the first thing I tried was changing my settings in game, basically everything to its lowest or default, vsync off, windowed mode, trilinear filtering dynamic resolution = enabled, target framerate = 60, engine multithreading off.

those settings did nothing at first so I went into my Nvidia control panel. To get there on windows 10, press the windows key, then type 'control panel' and the option should appear for you to click (the search bar will appear when you start typing. In control panel go to 'Hardware and sound' then 'NVIDIA control panel'.
click the second option called 'manage 3D settings' in the '3D settings' drop-down menu then click on the second tab called 'Program Settings'. now that your here you want to use the drop-down to find 'Path of Exile (pathofexilesteam.exe). this will allow you to change the settings your graphics card uses, to be honest I don't understand to well how it interacts but I believe maybe which program controls what is causing the crash so the options I changed to use where Anisotropic: filtering = 8x, FXAA = On, Gamma correction = On, Mode = Enhance the application setting, Setting 4x, the next 4 options I put to global setting. In the next option I selected my GPU (GTX 1070), power management mode = prefer max performance, refresh rate = application controlled, shader cache = on. Texture Filtering: ANisotropic = On, negative Lod = Allow, Quality = High performance, trilinear = on. Threaded optimisation = global, triple buffering = global, vertical sync = application setting and virtual reality = application setting

Now I understand this is a long post but I'm an awful teacher, hopefully someone can make a youtube video on these instructions IF they work for other people. The card I use is a gtx 1070. Hopefully this helps some of you.

I tried all of this and unfortunately it didn't work for me. Using Molten Strike.

you might need an uninstall but before that try doing this.

1)Right click your windows start and select event viewer
-Select the "apps" tab
-Look for anything with a ! and look to see if its poe related (might be a corrupted file)

2)Locate your GGG poe folder / open it and run the "Patch Check" as admin , This will check your files for any issues (wont always fix)

if it still happens than uninstall the game and remove delete your GGG folder , download the downloader again and run as admin. File corruptions do happen when patching and even though it looks like it's smooth there is always a possibility you have a hiccup in your internet connection which leads to a corruption. It's a long process but this is what fixed my 8-9 crashes a day to 0 crashes in a week after reinstalling.

I hope its something wrong on your end and is fixable. Legions pretty fun and I know how frustrating it was for me to try and play with the same issue.

Thats not a good sign, I'm going to try and mess about with the settings again as althrough I don't crash some of the graphics later on in the game plus in the end of uber lab are warping and missing. maybe try the nvidia change with engine multi-threading on. any fix I can whip up I can only guarantee on my own computer :(

that pretty unfortunate, is your game in windowed mode? and is the resolution correct for the monitor or screen?
If your in full screen mode it could well be a hardware issue, less likely with windowed mode. I, being the genius I clearly am, bought a nvidia graphics card with an AMD based monitor which is an outstanding bit of heckery but it works, unless I fullscreen it.

Also I don't expect a staff reply, to many variables to fix reasonably. It could be so many things; people like to feel important when it comes to receiving support but don't account for the 9 billion other emails and posts support staff get, most about the same thing.

OH MY GOD. I can't play this game. I'm so ANGRY. WHY YOU CAN'T FIX IT? MANY PLAYERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2017 AND YOU HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING!
I'm playing flicker strike and i have crashes every 5 minutes. It's unplayable.

add me to this list. :(
