Life Gain on Hit is now scaled by the Damage Effectiveness of a skill. ?

This makes my dual wield marauder very sad -__________-

cyclone generates a ton of health regardless of the decrease they gave it. I can understand why as you are almost under know threat as it is in packs if you have a fast hitting cyclone with life leech and life on hit.

Damage effectiveness is used to scale all supports and other damage bonuses affecting a skill. Supports don't affect damage effectiveness, but damage effectiveness affects supports and bonuses. How it works is that the game calculates your damage from all sources, and then takes the final result and multiplies it by the damage effectiveness. The damage effectiveness is a hard-coded stat of the skill itself. How long is it taking you to kill these mobs while under no threat? Since you are wasting two slots to maintain survivability with the skill alone. I think I could kill mobs faster and safer using a single target attack imho.

Also it does not make sense for GGG to buff loh in the 0.10.0 patch just to nerf it for the only skills that its useful for. Not to mention that loh on LA+LMP/GMP+Chain is 10x worse than any combination possible on cyclone. They nerfed loh for the release of cyclone? Lol. Right now life leech with any passives/blood rage on any other skill is better than loh+life leech+ both of the above on cyclone. Cyclone seems pretty useless and the nerf to loh is stupid.

Sooo you are correct :P Support gems do not change the Damage Effectiveness; only the base Skill used has an effect on that. Only Damage Effectiveness scales Life Gain on Hit up or down.
Normalization, basicaly they bring LOH on same lvl like Add dmg supports.

No it won't affect LoH gear.... Gear has no Damage Effectiveness man.

Neither does the Support Gem, yet it's effected. Welp.
Gear and Passive Life Gain on Hit will also be scaled with Damage Effectiveness.



So you take ever LoH you have (i.e. 100) and then multiplicate that with the Damage Effectiveness of the skill you used.

So if you have 100 LoH total (from support gem and gear) and use a 70% DE skill you get 70 LoH instead of 100.

This should be right, right?

well basically they made life on hit the same as leech, by making changines to accompany one new skill they mada a lot of skills a lot less viable.
Havn't played with the changes to LOH yet.

But honestly do I really need too ? lol

Pure melee just took yet another hit to effectiveness.

And Cyclone....from what I'm reading about it so far... really ?

Sorry for not being constructive,but since Open Beta most of the changes to the game have left me scratching my head.
