So... will there actually be a way to convert legacy maps into current ones?

I'm not sure there really is a problem if you don't have a map tab... but since for some it seems to be an issue... why not have Zana collect the legacy maps and give you one of the recent ones.
Along the lines:
"That is fascinating, exile. It looks like one of the maps we use in the device, but slightly different. I'd love to study it. Here, have this is a replacement!"

[Select Map of Same tier]

To save some resources, this could even be done without dialogue; you just hand Zana the map and get a choice of maps of the same tier from the actual series.

Yeah, I don't think there's anything wrong if they turn the current trade-in recipe to some kind of an equal exchange. It's reasonable since they change the map series just about every league now.

But there are some people who seem to feel absolutely entitled to that because that's what map tabs are getting. Map tabs are getting it to solve legit problems above and beyond the normal issue of "WTF should I do with these maps that went legacy?".

I wouldn't cry foul if they implemented something for everyone to make use of. But even though I currently have like 5 normal tabs of pre-2.0 maps through 3.6 maps, I won't complain if they don't give it to everyone.

I usually play both league and standard actively, so it's been a real nightmare for me keeping maps sorted when leagues end even with 2 actual map tabs (and having them at all is a big part of the problem).

I've emptied my league map tab now, read somewhere that won't create a ghost tab in standard you can't get rid of when the leagues merge.

If it works that's probably a good sign, it would mean the problem likely can be solved. However, since it isn't fixed yet it could imply that they either don't care enough about standard to bother or that it's much harder and/or time consuming than it seems.

No, I feel entitled to it because that's what I used to have before GGG started changing the Atlas every league.

If the map tab is the only way to update legacy maps, that's literally a case of GGG creating a problem and selling us the solution. That practice can go die in a chemical fire, tyvm.

I would believe in this "fix" when I saw it if I was a concerned player. GGG does not follow through on most things anymore.
