The daring may enjoy a Dance with Death

One idea is that you could probably pretend you're a dual wielding build in terms of how tanky you are and instead of having a helmet, have a really good shield in its place.

Don't know how that would work in practice.

this is actually terrible.

not using a helmet is not worth just getting lucky crit, and lucky damage on crits. you can already get lucky crit somewhere else, so that isn't a big deal. the trade off of a helmet vs a flask slot is obvious. so taking this and getting lucky damage from crit vs crit dmg vs you is lucky...i'd say that isn't worth it either.

so yes, this node is bad. i don't see how its worth taking at all.

Oh, well... If they added some +300 life to Brass Dome, you could think about it. If not, the loss of the helmet and helmet enchant is too severe. Alternatively, it can be used for some typical glass cannon pure ranged build, which is oneshoted anyway every time it gets hit. TS deadeye or something with Lioneyes bow... Burial chambers heroes or something. But overall? No, thanks, the more so it is also jewel slot waste.

By the way, I've always wondered who in GGG invents such nonsenses?

Right, so the area of the tree that already has the least Life/ES now gets a node that makes you even more likely to get oneshot.

Design experts hard at work.

Sigh.
Edit: Busted AF but ontop of point blank the opportunity cost might actually balance out.

Numbers wise its ridiculously broken but It might be that doesn't matter as nobody its suitable for is actually going to path all the way down there unless scion.

This "Can't use helmets" is the most clunky thing i've ever seen in this game.

edit:
Point Blank is limited to attacks. Wording of this new Keystone says spells are also affected. Melee buff huh?
retired from forum because of censorship and discrimination
(also poe2 bad)

Spotted a typo. You left out the words "with physical melee attacks". Multiple times.

That or this is an archery buff.

Either there's something we're not being shown or this whole melee buff thing has turned into an office joke with idiotic players still believing in TencentGGG as the butt.

I choose to believe it's the former, as the resident Idiotic Ruler.

Edit: the art for this modified keystone makes me wonder if people in the office actually communicate, because I am very dubious how many people are going to dual wield with this if bows are an option. Feel free to name one famous archer from history, mythology, or literature commonly depicted with a helmet...

Its over point blank which AFAIK every archer takes (I certainly do), it depends if its only an option there
Its probably not a fair point in the long run, most people think it'll change any keystone its over so you can slap it on the absolutely terrible perfect agony instead and have point blank too.
Seems a like fair trade, for people who can handle the downsides.

Even more one shots (player) vs one shots (monsters), especially with much clutter on screen.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks

Good idea but now that makes the player experience EVEN MORE about one shots which is already a big problem. I think people don't understand that it's monsters critical damage that is lucky aka 40% more crit damage.

idk where the hell you're getting "40% more crit damage" from, it varies widely depending on the source of incoming damage but it's not that high in general outside of *maybe* lightning damage.

"Lucky" is on average a 33% more multiplier. With a range of 1000 - 10,000 you'll have average rolls as such

Unlucky - 2,500
Normal - 5,000
Lucky - 7,500

The problem with that keystrone is:

1) It's pointless to invest so much into crit reduction etc. to make it worth. Might as well get just get the damage without any downsides.

2) Abyssus already exists

3) It's ultra trash for melee, maybe acceptable for ranged somehow

4) It promotes one-shot gameplay even more. Even if it's a player's choice, majority don't understand the gameplay risks and mechanics good enough and emotions will still prevail over their poor decisions.
