while everyone gets easily distracted I'm skeptical.. how is this different than harbringer was? because to me looks like another breach league..

If I attach a ping-pong ball to a piece of string and then casually spin around, that's what the new Cyclone looks like to me. The effect should have been beefier, meatier, like you're a spinning-top made of literal volcano. How it used to be, but bigger and able to suck-in, carry and spit out enemies from 3 screens away.

So many self-proclaimed prophets here.
I, for one, believe that it will be a great league. Lots of new skills, reworks, items and balancing. I really like that you are keeping us on our toes. Yeah, I would like to see a couple of changes and I really to think you need a new team of testers, but looking forward to this one. twitch.tv/KQFFE

The problem really isn't melee - the problem is that the support gems and the linking systems are antiquated. The support gems for melee characters are the very definition of power creep. Bleed is a joke, and will remain a joke, even in 3.7; the same can be said for poison. So how does one double dip if none of the melee mechanics work (compared to ranged/spells)? I just don't see it, which is why I will be one of few who does not play melee in the next league (except for maybe flicker strike, which is always fun to play even if it scales horribly.)
Another thing that would make the game interesting again, is if all skill and support gems, beyond what you can get from the vendor in Act 1, should only be found on the field, just like it was back in ancient times. The fact that you can buy every skill gem from the vendor, except for empower, enhance, and enlightenment, really pisses me off to this day. People should have to work to play the build they want to play, and that includes treating skill and support gems as loot. On that note, why is there gemcutters chest, if you can simply buy the skills from the vendor? GGG had it right the first time, until the community complained that it was too hard to find/trade the skill gems that they wanted. Giving the community what they wanted, in this regard, was a mistake. Yes, it will make racing a lot harder and more tedious, but that's what grinding is all about. Stop spoon feeding the casuals, GGG! |
